I WAS the manager for the tourney team and I was heading towards the field for tryouts. Ben told me that he wanted Carlos and Jay to tryout so I was going to see, I liked the idea a lot since the team was in need of more people since Ben would be leaving soon to become king.

"Ben!" I say running on the field towards him.

"Hey Tessa!" He says hugging me.

"Jay, Ben, Offense!" The coach yells as we watch the guys.

"Chad, you're defense." He says

"Taylor, you're the shooter."

"Carlos you might want to get out of the kill zone!" I say and he nods before leaving.

The coach blows the whistle, I watched in awe as Jay managed to dodged flying pucks, knock everyone to the ground and still get the score AND manage to do a victory dance. Of course that wasn't in the rules but seeing how mad Audrey got made me begin cheering with the already highly annoying cheering from the rest of the cheer squad.

"Alright! Everyone around up!" The coach says and we stand in a circle.

"What do you you call that?" He points at Jay.

"I call that raw talent." I say and he high fives me as I smile at Jay.

"Come after practice and I'll have Tessa show you the rule book." The coach says smiling and I nod.

"Have you tried band?" He then asked Carlos and I looked at Ben who understood what I was asking without me having to say it.

"I'll work with him coach." Ben says.

"Let's run that again!" The boys begin to round up but I grab Jay before he could go back.

"You were great out there." I smile and he smiles happily.

I was at the bleachers waiting for Jay to arrive so we could go over the rule book and try and teach him to play strategically. I sat reading a book about magic because I was bored and those types of books always seemed to make me happy.

"I'm here!" Jay says walking up and I close my book upon his arrival.

"Hi." I say standing on the bleachers.

"So, where's the lame rule book?" He asks and I get down from the bleachers to hand him the rule book.

"It's small but it's the key to success in tourney." I say and he nods before putting it in his pocket.

"So you up to anything later?" He says and I nod.

He visibly frowns and I giggle, "Not because I don't want to hang out with you more, Jay. Of course I do, but I have to find a coronation dress." I say looking into his eyes as he finds his seat next to me on the bleachers.

"I could help you," He says as if he's made a realization, "Evie is really good with designing dresses, and all that types of stuff. How about I ask her to make your dress, and we can talk more about this rule book?" He says and I pretend to think about it.

"Jay, that's great actually. I love that idea!" I say excitedly standing up.

"Cool! I also had another question to ask." He said and I nodded looking at him.

"Would you- like to be my date to the coronation?" He asks and use my hand to cover my face of pure happiness.

I liked Jay I really did, as a friend, maybe more. I was confused but even if I said 'yes' as friends we wouldn't even be able to sit together because from what I know, the Vk's will be separated from us unfortunately.

"Jay I-"

"It could be just as friends, if you don't want it to be romantically." He says and I nod at him.

"I'd like that. However, we can't sit together or even be together during the coronation, so how would that work?" I say looking at him.

"We can be together for the after party..." Jay trailed off as if something was bothering him.

"Jay is everything alright?" I ask, and he nods walking off.

"Jay!" I say standing up.

I didn't know what was wrong with Jay, was my response not what he was hoping for? Or was he just bad at taking rejections? I mean he might not have been used to it, not only is he cute he's also very new to rejection probably.

It's not like I fully rejected him though, we could still dance together after that wouldn't be a problem.

I sighed heavily wishing that there was a way for me to make him come back, or just help him out but he was long gone.
