You watched as the young swordsmith gush about how rare your sword is and how lucky he is to witness it, Sanemi sat beside Satō keeping an eye out on the young masked boy. He wasn't jealous, that sounds preposterous! Why would he ever be jealous of another boy having your attention?

His frowned deepened as he continued to watch. Of course, your almighty mother figure watched the whole thing internally smirking.

You run around your room, feet tapping against the floor as you grabbed your equipment and clothing. You excitedly smiled as you added your last accessory on. You stared at the mirror making sure to not look like an idiot, taking off a few unnecessary accessories. You were wearing a uniform that was the same as Mitsuri, it made you feel self-conscious that you have to wear it in your missions but you can't really complain since you were too shy to tell Amane that you wanted to wear the men's uniform so you forced yourself to wear it for now since you didn't really have a chance.

Anyways, you wore a black and gold haori with the red flowers decorating each ends of it, you decided to change it so it will match your sword and you really liked it. You had your black scabbard cling onto your waist as your sword rested inside it. You had a simple and pretty hairpin of a lotus with two gold chains dangling from it at the side of your head. You also decided to wear gloves since you know your hands might get really sweaty and your katana might slip from your grasp and you won't allow that so you asked Satō for a pair of black gloves.

You smiled to yourself as you headed out the room.

The moment you left the room you heard the sound of a crow at the window not to far from you. You smiled as you turned to see your bird. He had a scar on his right eye which still made you sad ever since you met the black crow. "Hey Rick! What's my first mission today?"

"(L/N) (Y/N)! Your first mission is to go to a forest! People who entered the forest are now missing! Find the demon and slay it!" You nodded and went to the direction of the forest. After saying your goodbyes to your friend and mother figure of course.

Nervous (E/C) eyes scanned the area of their destination.

The forest looked rather normal, you expected it to be something creepy but who would go to a sketchy dark forest? White people in horror movies apparently. You sighed as you made your way through the dark forest. But as your feet entered the forest everything suddenly turned black for a second before it went back to normal. You blinked as you stared at the ground..'wait..'

The ground that used to filled with healthy green grass now has mud and dead grass stained in red. Your brows furrowed before your eyes widened as you jumped away from the spot you were previously standing in. You looked around to be in the same forest but everything was now dead. The trees were now dead and only a few leafs were there. The crows thst were resting on every tree you were currently seeing were staring into your soul. You tensed as you heard a manic laugh, "MWAHAHAAHHAA!! How interesting! It's my first time seeing a mere human dodge my trap! Yes..yes! AHAHAHA!" The voice rung out through the area, you looked around the place to see a demon in front of you. 'he looks like my ideal sleep paralysis demon'  you joked to yourself in attempt to calm your nerves from the hideous creature before you.

They were absolutely tall and slightly transparent. They were completely black as their eyes where just messy white swirls as if it was drawn by an unstable person. There mouth was smiling so wide..too wide it was even comparable to the cheshire cat. But what made you even more disturbed by it is the fact that their head kept spinning in a slow way, accompanied by the sickening sounds of cracking. Their body violently twitches from time to time and it didn't fail to make you flinch everytime. You gulped as you readied your stance, dominant hand on the hilt of your sword, ready to pull it out. The demon giggled "what an adorable thing you ar--" before they could finish you dashed towards them sword already out. They hummed as they dodged your attack and threw you to a nearby tree harshly. The impact knocked the air out of you as you choked on your own spit. You fell to the floor gasping for air as you coughed continuously.
