Oxford, you’re kidding right?,” I replied quickly to my mom. “I would really love to go to England, but for college? It’s just too far away,”
“Oh, come on. Just check it out, for me? Besides you might even meet One Direction,” she encouraged. I rolled my eyes.I liked One Direction it’s true, but I didn’t ‘love’ them. It’s just so complicated. I knew Niall before he went and auditioned for the X-factor. Not very well though, since he went to my school but we didn’t really talk. I wish I knew him better though, not for the fame but because he sounded, real I guess. “Please, Lucy!,” my mother begged. She wanted me to go see England for college possibilities because she thought it was so close to Ireland where we live. Also because Oxford was an extremely good college that she wanted to consider applying to.
“Fine, I’ll give it a try,” I gave in. It’s a slim chance I might meet One Direction, but it could happen. I traced my finger along the wall as I glided up the stairs to my room. I needed to start packing right away, since apparently my Mother had already booked the flight. I piled in the rest of my clothes and other important things such as lip-gloss. My gaze drifted to my desk.Where there was a picture of me and one of my friends, Madeleine. She is a huge Louis fan, and she would rather go to Oxford more than me, but once my mom wants something, there is no stopping her. Next to the picture was my iPod. I decided to put that in my bag too. I took my phone off my desk as well. I could feel the cool case on my palm. I turned the case over to see my name clearly depicted on the back in green, which is my favorite color. I loosely tucked my phone into my purse then glided down the stairs once more. I grabbed the car keys and carefully drove down to the airport. I parked my car as close to the airport as I could. I fingered the handle of my luggage as I pulled it through through the highly populated Dublin airport. I had quickly gone through the metal detectors and made my way down to the waiting area for my flight. I started feeling quite tired, yawning nearly every step of the way. I was almost there when I heard footsteps trailing behind me. I turned.
“Miss! Miss!,” a boy about my age called in a thick Irish accent, which is similar to mine. A beanie covered most of his light blonde hair. Some of his it lay limp across his face. His pale skin was covered by a pair of nice sunglasses. When he leaned over to catch his breath I could see they shielded his bright blue eyes.
“Me?,” I questioned blinking off sleep as I glanced around. It didn’t look as if I dropped anything. I quickly examined my luggage to make sure I zipped all of my compartments. They looked all zipped up. What could possibly be the problem?
“Are you Lucy?,” he panted, catching his breath, I nodded in confusion.“Your phone,” I wondered how he knew my name. He lifted up the phone to me. I looked down at the electronic device to see my name on the back. My gaze landed at the pocket, realizing it must have slipped out.
“Thank you so much, I wouldn’t want to lose that,” I delicately picked it up and placed it the pocket once again, but this time much more securely.
“No problem Lucy,” he said standing up,with a smirk spread across his face.
“I owe you one,” I replied a small smile creeping across my face as well. Then I heard a faint ‘swoosh’ sound coming from his pocket.
“One second,” he said taking out the iPhone. The smooth black case was held firm by his strong hand. “Yes, I found her,” he explained as he looked up at me, his smile faded, “Sorry , gotta go.”
“No problem, I hope to see you around,” I said waving.
“I hope so,” he replied before dashing off. I looked off to the waiting area again. I sighed and finished the short journey to the simple destination. Soon the boarding bell rang and I walked onto the plane. To occupy my incoming boredom, I pulled my iPod out off my luggage case before putting it over my head. The screen came to life, immediately finishing the lyric of the song I was last listening to:
