Harrison sucks.

Earlier today, we agreed that we were gonna sneak out and catch a midnight movie or something. So, at 11:30, I climbed out the window to go meet him at the end of the driveway like last time.

I waited for ten minutes and he never showed up.

I had to climb all the way back up without waking Hazel or Poppy and get back into bed. Jerk.

___

I slept in this morning until like 10:00, and when I finally awoke, I got up and went to go find him.

"Hey, you major reject." is all I say. He just looks up at me.

"Someone's in a bad mood." He responds. Does he even realize? Of course he does.

"You ditched me! I was waiting for you!" I glare at him. I think he gets the picture.

"Sorry. Got caught up with something." He then takes his toast and walks away from me. What does he even mean?"

___

Poppy and Hazel went out to the rope swing on the side yard and I am listening to some of my music. I can hear the little kids running outside and screaming as they play tag. I miss tag.

Suddenly, there's a huge thump that comes from upstairs, then a "shit!" followed by it. It's coming from Harrison's room, so I get up to go make sure he's ok. Or to laugh at him. Whichever comes first.

___

When I get up there, he's bent over looking behind his bookshelf. "What's going on?" I ask, as nonchalantly as I can. He looks up at me.

"I dropped my book back there. It's fine." He says, obviously irritated.

I smirk. "You read?" He chuckles sarcastically then glares at me. "Shut up."

"Well, let me see if I can help you." I walk over to him, and although he protests, I slip my arm behind the thin space. I feel the paper and I grab it quickly. "Here." I hand it to him, but not before I read the cover.

He snatches it away from me as fast as he can. All I do is stare at him. "Pride and Prejudice?"

He looks down at his feet (he's kind of a big dufus) and avoids eye contact. "Where did you even get this?" I interrogate.

"You can't tell her." He begs. I already know where this is going, but I let him continue anyway. "I stole it from Poppy's room earlier. She said it was good and I don't know..." He trails off.

I nod, then look down at my feet. "Well, I guess I'll leave you to it then." I then go back downstairs to my room.

___

I shouldn't be sad. It has only been a week or so and he's a 17 year old boy. I should have known better.

But Poppy? She's boring as sand and is completely different than him.

Why does he like her instead of me?
