Last night was the best night of my life. After Mia and I left Poppy alone in our room, we met up with Harrison. He had his coat slung over his shoulder like the greasers from Grease. We then walked to the main road and passed all of the stores and bars in the town. We then found a small club.

"Alright, do you guys have fake IDs?" Harrison hissed under his breath as we waited in line. We both shook our heads. I had never done something like this, and I don't think Mia has either.

"That's ok, I have mine. I can sneak you guys in." Harrison looked straight ahead at the guys by the door. His face is so... pretty. His eyes are blue like his mom's and he is tall like his dad. After a few seconds, I realized I was staring and I looked back in front of me.

"Party of three?" The guy at the door said. He didn't look like a normal 'greeter' at club. He was wearing a plaid shirt and jeans, not a tux. Harrison pulled out his 'ID', but the man waved it off. "I don't need to see that!" He scoffed.

That's when we figured out that it was not a night club. I mean, we should have known. There usually aren't night clubs in small Maine towns.

We went inside to find a large dance hall. There were drinks and snacks to the right and a 'DJ' in the back. The 'DJ' was a kid with a boombox.

"This literally is my 6th grade dance." Mia said to herself. But we didn't leave. Even though the rest of the town was dead at 1 AM, this dance hall was alive with people dancing everywhere.

"This is kind of awesome." Harrison mumbled and then chuckled under his breath. Hot.

"Let's dance!" I suggested. Mia shook her head, but Harrison moved to the center of the dance floor. Mia followed him like a little puppy, and I followed her. The music was retro, and they were playing a lot of ABBA. Almost every song was ABBA.

We danced along to 'Dancing Queen' until it ended. A slow song came on afterward, so the three of use went off to the side. Mia and Harrison were busy flirting with each other, so I slipped off to the snack table.

As I munched on some carrots and hummus, I could sense a pair of eyes on me. I slowly turned around to face the culprit, and it was the boy by the boombox. To my surprise, he didn't look away when I caught him.

Why not? I wondered to myself. After debating with my conscience a little, I walked over to him. He didn't seem too surprised, but  he smiled when I came closer.

"Hi." I said. Why are you so awkward? I thought to myself while mentally slapping myself in the face. I could see the humor in his eyes. His deep, blue eyes... I could feel myself falling, but I wasn't planning on stopping. I took my dad's advice-ridden lyrics into mind: Don't stop doin' what you're doin'...

"Hey." He said playfully. "I'm James."

James. That's a really hot name. James is really cute. My subconscious began pointing out the obvious.

"I'm Hazel." We both stared at each other awkwardly. "Well..." I began to end the conversation, but he stopped me.

"Do you have a phone?"

Is he gonna ask for my number? Omg he's gonna ask for my number. My inner-voice went crazy with this new development. I then tried to act cool.

"Yeah, do you?" But it sounded really lame. Very lame. I mean, I don't talk to boys that much because my parents don't really like me dating, so I had an excuse. Sort of.
