This last week has been super awkward and I don't know why.

Mia hasn't been talking to Harrison or Poppy, and Poppy hasn't been talking to anyone. I haven't been talking to James either. I guess I did leave him hanging.

Dad and Luke realized that we weren't really talking and assumed that we just didn't know each other, so they made us go down into the basement to watch a movie together. That was their first mistake.

"I hate this movie." Harrison grumbles, sitting on the couch.

"It's Up. How can you hate Up?" Mia shoots back.

"It's too old for me. I don't like retro movies." He says, looking down at his phone. This causes me to imulsively reach for mine, and check it for a text from James. Nothing.

"But it's Up." Mia holds her ground. Poppy rolls her eyes and leans back in her beanbag. Harrison looks over at her then quickly overts his eyes. I wonder what happened there.

"Stop being biased." Harrison grunts. His face then lights up. "I have an idea of what we can watch."

Mia rolls her eyes. "It better not be porn, or I'll kill you."

Poppy actually laughs at this. I join in, sincerely hoping that it isn't.

"No it's not. It's better." Harrison assures us. He goes onto YouTube on the TV and searches a video.

"What the hell is 'You Suck'?" I ask, as he clicks on the old video. It looks 20 years old.

"Just watch. It's about my dad." He presses play and we begin to watch it.

___

It's been 20 minutes, and we haven't stopped laughing.

"How did you find this?" Mia asks, practically crying.

"My mum showed me. Told me her blog blew up the day it came out." He wipes his eyes. That is the highlight of my summer, I'm sure of it.

___

Tonight, our dads have the night off, so we go to a nearby lake to have dinner. It took forever to get everything packed in the car. Minnie volunteered to sit in the back for me, which I realized was a mistake the second we pulled out of the driveway.

"Minnie, stop it." She kicks the back of my seat with both feet. Meanwhile, Sebastian is trying to show me his hand-held video game, my parents are talking in the front seat, and Atticus is quite as usual.

"Minnie! Knock it off!" I yell back to her. She just giggles and continues kicking, now in full force. I have had it with her. "MINNIE! STOP!" I scream. I turn around and grab her wrist lightly. She, of course, starts crying.

"Hazel! Stop yelling at her!" Mom yells at me. Now Sebastian is upset because I messed up his game, Minnie is hysterically crying, and Atticus is stressed out, which is never good.

"Everyone be quiet!" Dad raises his voice. Dad never raises his voice. All the noise leaves the car and we drive, waiting for the lecture we all hate so much.

"Hazel, what has gotten into you?" Me? Why me? Why is it always me?

"I don't know, maybe Minnie's heels in my back?" That was too sassy.

"See, that's what I mean. You can't talk to me like that!" I roll my eyes, but Dad sees me. "That's it. Until you get your act together, you're grounded." Dad must be really angry. But I didn't do anything! It was Minnie's fault. I've never been grounded before in my entire life.
