As soon as I enter the house the loud music coming from the speakers almost make my ears bleed. There is bunch of teenagers around the house. Some dancing, some drinking, some chatting, some relaxing on the couch, some making out, and some around Priya, wishing her. That makes me wonder if she has invited the whole community of teens for her birthday. I can recognise some of them from our school and neighborhood. But that is it. I can't remember the majority of them. I have never been good at remembering except for studies.

One thing is for sure...this party is nothing as I thought it would be and Mum will have my head if she comes to know about this.

Ignoring that I go in search of my friends. I try to call them but there is no network in my phone. After thirty minutes of searching them and failing I decide to go wish the birthday girl.

She is standing in front of the makeshift dance floor, surrounded by her friends, on which girls and boys of our age are dry humping each other more than dancing. Grimacing at the sight, I make my way to her and she throws her arms around me, hugging me tightly as soon as she notices me.

"You came!!!" She squeals.

"Of course. How could I not?" I raise a brow at her.

"I thought you will turn down this offer too because it's a party." She says making a sad face.

"You did not leave me with any other option." I remind her.

"I am glad that I did not." She wiggles her eyebrows mischievously.

"You literally threatened me with our friendship, that you will not talk to me if I do not come today." I squint my eyes at her.

"Either way, my plan succeeded and you came." She grins again.

"Okay, okay. Now your gift." I put it in her outstretched hands.

"Thank you babe." She gives me a one sided hug with the gift in her other hand.

"By the way, where are the girls?" I ask her.

"I don't know. They were here before you came. Where did they vanish?" She said looking around.

"Okay, I will just go find them." I try to take my leave. But she stops me by grabbing my forearm. I look back at her questioningly.

"Uhh, there is someone I want you to meet." She says meekly.

"Who?" I am confused.

Suddenly the whole crowd goes silent. But as much as the noise before was irritating me, this quietness bothers me for some reason. There is an unexpected drop in the temperature of the room. And it does not sit well with me. I can feel something about to happen...but good or bad? That I have to figure out.

"There he is." She says and coaxes me to turn around.

But I don't. It is as if my feet are rooted to the ground.
