The Kiss of the Blade

Chapter Fifteen.

Zee:

Zee dropped her bag on the sand and watched amused as her friends tried to keep their feet from burning. Zee simply smiled. It was hot, but then, she was used to it.

"Maybe you guys should cool off in the water?" She called out. Lance ran up to her, the others on his heels. "Oh admit it, you just wanna see us take our shirts of." He winked, nudging her.

She rolled her eyes and smirked, "Of course... Caught me red handed I see." Lance grinned and did what he accused her of wanting. He took his shirt off revealing toned abs, and shooting one last wink at her, he ran off into the waves.

She shook her head and waited for the others to do the same. Aria stood beside her but the others had almost covered the distance to the water. Aria looked at her, a question in her eyes, but Zee simply nodded. Together, almost in sync, they took off their shirts and shorts revealing their bikinis.

Aria adjusted her strap and they set off after the boys. Zee could feel the stares of the people, both strangers and not, on them as they walked down the beach. Someone whistled. Zee sighed, it was only a matter of time till it happened. She stuck her middle finger out in the direction that the whistle came from.

Aria stepped into the water, and Zee noticed her shivering a little. She smiled slyly, the pushed Aria lightly. It was enough to topple her over into the water. Aria emerged soaked and sputtering. "I'll get you for that" She cackled, but Zee was far away, laughing.

Zee looked up and managed to stop laughing long enough to notice all the guys' eyes on her. Or her body at least. She smirked and struck a pose. "Well? How do we look boys?"

That seemed to snap then out of it. "You'll look better in a minute!" She heard a voice behind her. She turned a minute too late. Noah was running at her from behind at full speed. He crashed into her and they both toppled into the water, laughing.

"Karma's a bitch, huh" Aria called the minute Zee's head erupted from the water. "Karma? Or you?" Zee retorted.

Noah popped up next to her and rested his elbow on her shoulder. She was about to shrug him of when he leaned in and whispered, "The guys seem dry enough. Let's change that"

Zee looked at him and nodded. Then with a wink she dropped till she was submerged. She swam towards them making as little noise as possible, but the waves concealed her mostly.

She emerged right behind Leonardo and Troy and with a battle cry that rang in their ears for a while later, she rammed into them full force. The boys fell crashing into the waves. Troy emerged coughing, followed by Leonardo.

"That really sucked you know." Troy said, but the look on his face differed. "Oh, grow a pair, will ya." She smirked. Leonardo opened his mouth to say something, but stopped, freezing a smile onto his face. "Not to quote Aria or anything, but Karma's a bitch."

Zee's ears perked. She knew Noah was behind her, she had heard him arrive. "And jealousy's a whore," Zee winked. She threw herself at Troy - being a football player and all -, his first instinct was to catch her. She didn't move from his arms, and he didn't put her down. They merely laughed as Noah crashed into Leonardo and into the water they went.

Aria had reached them by now, and was doubling over with laughter. When the three of them stopped cracking up, Aria joked, "Hey Ryder, you can't just throw yourself all over my boyfriend, now can you."

"I can throw myself at whoever I wish to," she responded, glancing mischievously at Noah, "Unfortunately for you, Troy, I don't want to throw myself at you. Put me down."
