Zee:
Everyone stood huddled on the steps outside Dr.Halo. Staff were running around, apologizing to everyone, and trying to put the fire out.
Zee sat next to Noah, snuggling in his warmth. It wasn’t cold, but snuggling felt good. And, if she was honest with herself, she would have admitted that the note and the fire and everything that had happened since their first kiss had actually kinda freaked her out.
Noah had been bolder than she had expected, and she wondered if it would be better to reject him and wait for him to get to "know" her better. but then, her time was running out. She seriously considered slipping the poison she had received in the beginning, but poison was a slow and painful way to die.
She was only using that as a last resort, because ever since she started getting to know Noah, she realized he was really sweet and deserved something quick, like a bullet.
She glanced over at Noah who had his arm around her. He had a faraway look in his eyes. He was biting his lip and looked...Upset? No, it was more like...fear.
Zee panicked. Could he have found out her true intentions? She had to put his mind at ease.
She rested her head on his shoulder and said softly, "Noah?"
"M-hmm?"
"Yes."
Noah stared at her blankly.
"Yes, I will be your girlfriend." Zee said with a smile.
Noah smiled, but there was something in his eyes that gave him away. He was afraid. Of what, Zee didn’t know. He couldn’t have found out about her could he have? No. She guarded the files too carefully.
Then Noah leaned down and kissed her, clearing all the fears she had about him finding something out.
The kiss was short and sweet. But it was perfect. They pulled away after a few seconds, and she slipped her hand in his.
"So, boyfriend?" She grinned.
"Yes, girlfriend?" He replied, grinning as well.
She leaned up and brushed her lips against his. "Nothing."
Then she heard someone awkwardly clear their throat. She looked away, embarrassed. A small mouse-like man stood before them. He had black hair and a small goatee growing on his chin. He had an awkward smile and he looked like he was in his late twenties or early thirties.
Noah glared at the man, seemingly upset about their moment being ruined. The man swallowed and began timidly, "I'm so sorry for ruining you're dinner reservations and all of us from Dr. Halo would like to apologize and refund you're dinner."
Zee rolled her eyes and dug around her pocket. She fished out her wallet and pulled out a debit card. "There's not much on this, just a few thousand dollars, but use it to pay for our dinner and fix the damage."
Then, pulling a shocked Noah after her, she left the man on the steps, his jaw touching the ground.
* * *
"Why did you give him that? It was loaded!" Noah exclaimed when they made it to the car, "They were offering us free dinner!"
Zee sighed. "It wasn’t the restaurants fault. It was that stupid family's fault. Knocking over candles and letting the damn place burn."
Noah raised an eyebrow at her as he started up the engine. She raised an eyebrow back.
"That doesn’t explain why you gave them a credit card filled with freakin' thousands of dollars!" Noah objected.
