Noah:

Noah spotted Nigel right before he reached the door. Nigel was wearing a new pair of jeans, and he had worn a neon yellow jacket over his usual black t-shirt. That was, as far as Noah knew, the first time Nigel had worn any color except black for a few months.

"Where are you going?" Noah asked, "You're all dressed up like you're going on a date." Then he grinned, reaching into a bag of crisps as though the thought of his brother ever getting another girlfriend amused him.

"Actually, yes. Well, kind of." Nigel replied

Noah's hand stopped halfway to his mouth. His smirk faded, and his jaw dropped open. "Who?"

It was Nigel's turn to smirk, "Zee. you know. The girl who's not your girlfriend."

Noah dropped the bag of crisps. Zee? And his younger brother? It couldn’t be! He was worried for Nigel1 He was too young! And, deny it as he might, he was more than a little jealous. But...Why would Nigel date the girl who was responsible for breaking up him and Lily? And didn’t Nigel get the cold feeling? The scared one? He had to warn Nigel. It was better to be ignorant and happy, than know and suffer. Wasn’t it...?

"Nigel wait!" Noah started, but then hesitated. Was it possible that he actually had feelings for Zee and was maybe a little jealous? But Noah dismissed the thought immediately. The thought of Nigel going out with Zee. Beautiful, scary, irresistible Zee. Then he shook his head. He shouldn’t be thinking like that.

Nigel turned around raising an eyebrow impatiently. "Yeah? Im kinda late, so whatever you have to say, say it fast!"

Noah bit his lip. He didn't hesitate this time though. "Nigel....Just, be careful. Zee's my age, if you think she's actually interested in you, then you're wrong. You're 3 years younger than her. And anyways, she's probably just using you to get to me."

Hurt flashed in Nigel's eyes, and he shouted, "What do you know? You dont know anything about love!" . Then he kind of smiled, but it seemed forced, "Im sorry." he said, more softly, "But you really wouldn't know seeing as you hate her. You dont know what she's like. And how do you think she feels? Others have feelings too!" Nigel said, his voice rising. Then he stormed out of the door before Noah could reply.

The door slammed shut in Noah's face, and he just stood there, staring at it, astonished. Then slowly, very slowly he reached into his pocket and took out his phone. Then after staring at it for a while, he called Zee for the second time that week.

The first time, she had picked up, but he had chickened out before he could say anything, and hung up. This time though, he had a feeling she wouldn't pick up. Nevertheless, he stood, rooted to the spot, until Zee's caller tune died down and the voicemail beeped up.
He shut the phone, and, sitting down right there, he let his feeling wash over him.
