400 AD
GUPTA EMPIRE

It was official. Sersi and Ikaris were getting married. After many millennia together, they were finally making it official. Ira smiled slightly as he finished sifting through the clothes he had been offered upon visiting the empire.

The outfit choices weren't exactly his first pick, the colors much brighter than he was used to with his regular suit that was grey with streaks of white, light, and dark blue tracing the seams.

Sprite didn't seem too eager at the idea of it all either.

"What's wrong Sprout?" He asked. She and Ira were currently in one of the tents set up for the Eternals. He was now busy fixing strands of her hair as she grumbled under her breath.

"Nothing just-" She huffed. "Are you finished yet?" She asked, agitated.

Ira had finished a long time ago but he spent extra time because he was worried. The emotions radiating off of Sprite were a strange mix and Ira was having a hard time figuring out what could possibly be the reason behind it. "Yeah." He resigned, letting his hands fall away.

Sprite stood up and walked out without the barest recognition. Ira frowned but made no move to call after the girl. He knew she needed space to sort out her thoughts and feelings. The wedding wasn't until the following hour anyway. He would be able to see her there.

But now, all alone, Ira didn't know what to do with himself. He had already tried to help set up everything for the wedding but he has pushed away after he had finished carefully arranging a single bouquet of flowers, the people that had been managing the whole thing claiming that they were done and no longer needed his help. Ira just hoped it wasn't that they didn't like his decorating skills or anything of the sorts that had him sent packing away.

Everyone else was surely busy dressing and preparing as well. Ira had stopped in briefly earlier that day to speak to the bride and groom separately, calming Sersi--not because she was nervous no, but because she was simply too excited that Ira had temporarily feared she would trip over her own feet walking down the aisle if it came to it---, and talking idly with Ikaris as if this day wasn't one that carried such great significance. He had realized then as soon as he was leaving Ikaris' tent, that the man just wanted someone to talk to about everyday things instead of being told the various ways Arishem may punish him should he treat Sersi wrong in any way.

Now, all that was left to do was dress.

The clothes--alongside the fact that they were a weird warm pastel color, were extremely slow. The clothes fit fine but the fabric was significantly thinner than what he was used to with his own suit. He could say that he liked it, that he liked the way the air circulated better especially in such a warm climate such as this but almost immediately, he missed the comforting familiarity offered whilst dressed in his suit.

The clothes themselves were nothing fancy as per the request of Ajak and as Ira stepped out of the tent, ducking under the flap and stepping out under the sun, he could see how relatively dressed he was in comparison with others. It was almost a foreign concept; to be seen as a commoner rather than a divine being with futuristic clothes and an accent that no one had heard of before. The people still knew who he was of course, but the subtle change was definitely one that Ira would remember for a long while.

He found Makkari, Druig, Gilgamesh, Kingo, and Ajak gathered together in the marital tent as they waited for the ceremony to start. Ira suspected the others would start coming in soon. He took his place beside Makkari and smiled in welcoming.

'Ira' She signed. 'Is that glitter I see? In your hair?' She laughed under her breath and pointed.

"What?" He asked, his eyebrows drawn together as his hands raised to touch his hair, attempting to comb through it. "'I was helping Sprite earlier. That's where it must have come from.'" He signed as he spoke.
