Chapter Four: Welcome Home Emma

( Emma's p.o.v )
I wake up in the hospital. I get dressed and I decided to fishtail my hair. Then the doctor told me that my dad was out there to get me. So I got my stuff I had in this hospital. When I got outside. I got into the car. Then we drove away. Then on the way home dad asked me something.
" Hey Em. You know you can tell me anything right?" My dad asked.
" I'm fine dad okay." I said.
" Well I love you sweetie okay." My dad said.
" I love you too dad." I said.
Then we were finally home. I seen something covered up on the front house. Then everyone was out here. My mom and brother pulled the thing off. It said welcome home Emma. I then felt so happy that they took the time to do that.
" Awe thank you guys." I said with happiness and tears in my eyes.
" It wasn't just us that did it?" Carl said.
" Who helped?" I asked.
" Lexi and Brie and Sam helped too." I said.
" Where are they at?" I asked.
" Well Lexi and Brie went somewhere to do something but Sam is inside." Carl said.
" Okay thanks." I said walking inside and into the kitchen finding him on his phone.
" God I am so thirsty." I said not trying to be awkward.
" Hey Emma." Sam said looking at me.
" So how have you been?" I asked.
" I don't know how I've been." Sam said looking at me.
" Why are you acting like this Sam." I said.
" I don't know Emma maybe it is something that you are not telling me." Sam said.
" What are you talking about?" I asked.
" Nothing okay. Carl wanted me to go outside to help him so I will be out there if you need me." Sam said about to walk away but I grab his arm.
" Sam is this about that night at the hospital?" I asked.
" No why?" Sam asked.
" Then why are you acting like you are scared of me or something." I said.
" Fine you want to know why. I can't even look at you Emma like I use to. I'm scared of what could happen to us and how far this will go." Sam said.
" What does that mean Sam?" I asked.
" It means I can't be around you right now. All I see when I look at you...just forget." Sam said walking away from me.
Then I felt ashamed of what he told me. I can't believe this. At the hospital he was a different person and now he is acting awkward. I wonder why he is. Then I went outside to see if my mom needs help. Then Lexi and Brie came back. They seen me. They ran up to me and hugged me.
" Emma I am so glad you got to come home today." Brie said crying and laughing at the same time.
" Yeah Emma I am glad that you are okay too." Lexi said hugging me.
" I am glad I am okay too." I said laughing.
Then my mom told us all it is time to eat. So I said I will be in there a minute. I went upstairs to where it all started. I seen that my room was cleaned up. I changed my clothes. I then was about to go back down when Lexi came up here.
" I am really glad you are back home." Lexi said.
" I am too lex." I said.
" We all would be lost without you." Lexi said.
" Can I ask you something Lexi?" I asked her.
" Sure what is it?" Lexi asked.
" Do you know why Sam is acting so awkward around me?" I asked.
" No but I will try to see why." Lexi said.
" Thanks you are amazing." I said.
" Well you are like my sister. Heck I would die for you. I would do anything for my besties." Lexi said.
" I would do the same thing back to you guys too." I said laughing.
" Now let's go downstairs girl." Lexi said laughing.
Then Lexi and I was heading downstairs. I sat by Lexi. Then I was looking at Sam. He was on his phone. Then my dad said something.
" So Sam what do you want to do after you graduate school?" My dad asked him.
" Well umm I maybe want to try to make my own albums or something like that." Sam said.
" Are you thinking of going to college?" My dad asked.
" Yeah I am going to go to college." Sam said.
" Well that's good." My dad said.
" So Lexi what do you want to do after you graduate?" My dad asked.
" Well I want to be something to do with the law." Lexi said.
" Well that's good." My dad said.
" It is." Lexi said.
" What about you Brie?" My dad asked.
" I want to be a nurse." Brie said.
" I like you Brie." My dad said.
" Thanks." Brie said.
" So Emma what do you want to do after you graduate?" My dad asked.
" Um I want to be a writer." I said.
" That's good sweetie. My mom said.
" Yeah it is." I said.
Then we all were going inside then Sam wasn't yet. So I decided to sit right by him.
" So are you coming inside?" I asked.
" Yeah I was about right now." Sam said getting up.
" Wait Sam." I said.
" What?" Sam asked.
" Why are you acting like this. Is it because of me being in the hospital?" I asked.
" What no." Sam said.
" Then what is it then?" I asked.
" Don't try to act like you are fine because I know you are not. You are keeping something from me. I want to know. So are you going to tell me?" Sam asked.
" Sam I am not keeping anything from you." I said.
" What did the doctor say about it?" Sam asked.
" The doctor said I was dizzy and I passed out because of it. Okay." I said.
" It's not okay Emma. You don't look like you." Sam said.
" What do I look like to you then?" I asked.
" Emma I love you. But if you won't tell me what it is then I can't help you. That means I can't be around you if you are holding on to something that I need to know. What are relationships for if you are living on a lie." Sam said.
" I'm sorry Sam. I love you too but keeping this from you is goo because I don't want to hurt you and if you are saying I'm holding you back then go. I'm choosing to let you go Sam. It hurts me but I know it will keep you save." I said walking away.
Then I went inside. Then I was about to go upstairs until they stopped me.
" Where do you think you are going girl?" Brie asked.
" I am tired. I appreciated what you guys did for me today. I am grateful for that. But I am tired and I love you all. So goodnight and love you guys. I will see you guys in the morning." I said going upstairs. When I got up there I took me a long bubble bath. Then I got out. I put my pajamas on. Then I brushed my hair. Then I decided to write in my diary. So I sat by my table with the light on writing in my diary.
Dear Diary
Today was amazing. I had to let go of someone that I really love. Sam knows something. But I am not going to tell my secret. I know that will probably get cured. But if I tell them they will worry. I don't want them to worry about that. I don't want people knowing that this is me now. I can't let them know. It will hurt them. I am just going to keep doing my life as I can. Well I will write back tomorrow. Goodnight diary.

Then after that I shut my lamp off on my table. Then I covered up in my bed and I closed my eyes and went to bed.
