while in the parking lot he saw izzie walking to her car and he liked to think of it as his mind thinking her up.

he quickly walked over to her, "now if i didn't know any better I'd think you were avoiding me." he said holding onto her car door.

izzie looked at him in surprise before responding, "i don't think you know better at all. but im not avoiding you, brandon."

he leaned on her seat while she piled her stuff in the car, "see this is what i missed it's been b, yorke, mr. yorke all day. not even one brandon."

"i thought you didn't like to be called brandon." she said closing her back door and standing in front of him. she was squinting from the sun and her hair stuck to her face a little.

brandon swiftly leaned forward to block the sun, pushing some of her hair back so he could see her face, "it's different when you say it."

there was a moment of silence when they were focusing on each other and izzie almost forgot why she'd been avoiding him.

it looked as though he was going in for a kiss and she instantly remembered, that's why.

she quickly scooted around him and got into her car, "woah, slow your roll bran bran. there's no people around."

a smile escaped his lips as he watched her fumble with her seatbelt, "what are you doing later? i wanted to go to the rink and i wanted you to come."

"oh you know the usual." she started as she struggled to turn on her car, "homework, maybe a movie."

brandon knowingly quirked up an eyebrow, "it's friday?"

"gotta stay ahead. junior year gets crazy when you're not paying attention." izzie said as she closed her door, "ill text you!"

he watched as she pulled out of the parking lot and drove away. it was clear to anyone with half a brain that she was lying but what could he do about it.

ethan and ava found an excuse for ava to come over without christian. they told him that before the party, ethan's mom had gotten ava a book she wanted that was from new york.

it was where his mom had been for the past week. she came back for the first two weeks of school and left again last monday. she did make sure to actually mail the book over for ava after she left.

"ava," ethan said interrupting their comfortable silence. they had been laying in his bed for about an hour. he was tracing her face back and forth with his fingers when she fell asleep, "i wanna show you something."
