"Of course you did. You never listen to the things I say, even if it's for YOUR OWN FUCKING GOOD. My GOD how are you still alive. Last time she was out, she KILLED you. Not tried to, DID." Kiki tuned out. Everyone seemed to have this sort of reaction to her. It was remarkable that no one had realised that shouting never helps.

"Barnes, it's fine. BUCKY! LISTEN TO ME!" The room went silent. Bucky continued to glare at her. "I didn't lie, Nova and I did go for a walk. And I wasn't there when they did it, so she couldn't have hurt me."

"Well then, if you're so confident, let's go test it."

He laid a gun on the floor inside Lee's cell. Nova and Loki had stayed behind, so that Kiki could focus if it hadn't worked. She would have found it even easier if Bucky hadn't been there, but he had insisted and she couldn't argue.

Lee looked down and back up at Kiki. Her eyes remained her own, and there was no creepy smile. Her head was her own again.

"Ah, I'm back!" She yelled, running around the room with joy. "I'm free!"

Kiki smiled at Bucky, who did look relieved. He may not have approved of their method, but he found it hard to fault them when they had saved someone from being controlled like he had. And by Hydra too.

Everything was fine.

"Everything is not fine, Sola!" Kiki paced around her room, her sister sitting on the bed. "We don't know how big Hydra is anymore. Lee can't remember anything from when she was there, and Gabriel didn't tell you anything. We thought there was only Gabriel but there has to be more. And I had a dream about a weird circle at a level below the mountain, maybe that was something to do with it."

"That was a dream, Al." Replied Sol, ever the sensible one.

"Except it might not have been! There was something else I found I could do last year." She flopped backwards onto the bed, putting her head into Sol's lap. She absentmindedly stroked Kiki's hair. "It's like- well, I can put myself into the mist."

"What?" Sol's hand stopped and Kiki scrunched up her face, thinking of the best way to explain it.

"My consciousness is in me, yeah, and the mist is MADE of me, yeah, so technically the mist IS me, yeah, so I can project my consciousness, yeah, and see through it, got it?"

"No."

Kiki sighed. "I'll show you then."

She pulled on her power and created a mass of black smoke in the centre of the room. Her eyes glowed brighter as she stared ahead.

"I look incredibly creepy like this." She could see herself, and Sola staring down at her unbelievingly.

"This seems a little far fetched, Al. Do something proper."

"What if I stay here, you can lock me in, and go check on Hayl or something. I'll tell you what happened when you come back." Sol pushed Kiki's head off her and stood up.

"You're on," she said to the black shape.

Sol wasn't heading to Hayl's lab, nor to her room. She turned the wrong way, and then when she got to the lift that would still take her down, just further away, she went up.

What was up?

Oh no.

Why him? Why not... Nova?

Or even Sam?

Why did Sola want to doom her?
