When Kiki opened her eyes, she was lying in a confinement cell on the other side of the compound. Her entire body ached, especially her head. She couldn't remember anything after just after they got back.

"Hello?" She called. This holding cell was different to the ones at Shield, but just as easy to get out of.

When no one replied she stood up and walked to the one way glass covering one wall, tapping it to figure out the thickness. With a quick mental calculation she took 6 steps back, and ran at it, did a handspring, and broke the glass with the least amount of effort.

It wasn't the easiest glass to break, but she had done training for this and with the right angle and amount of pressure you could break anything. Even vibranium.

It hurt like hell though.

There was no one in the room behind the mirror, but at least she now knew her exact location. That was the most secure cell in the Avengers compound. And she had broken their one way glass.

She crept down the corridor, her senses heightened. She was looking out for any reasons they would have knocked her out and taken her to that cell. She thought they had trusted her.

Maybe they still did. Maybe something had happened she couldn't remember and that was why they took her away. Maybe there was still hope.

She needed to find the security room.

Bucky paced around the room worriedly.

"Stop burning holes in the carpet, Buck, she'll be fine." Steve called from the chair he was sat in. Apart from Sam, he was the only one there who wasn't worried about her.

"Like I said before, Steve, a lot has changed." He turned to face his friend. Suddenly he wanted to punch someone, and made a fist.

"It's not him you want to punch." Azeria reminded him as Nova placed a hand on his arm. Even Loki and Thor had made temporary peace to concentrate on more important things, and they were seated on chairs/tables at the opposite ends of the room. Thor, in his slightly drunken haze, had not seen that it was not, in fact, a stool of some kind and was, in fact, a coffee table.

It did not look comfortable.

Bucky made a decision and abruptly left the room, heading to the security office to watch the footage one more time.

She fast forwarded through the bits she remembered, right up to... there.

She watched herself on the screen as her eyes lit up and she collapsed into Bucky's arms. The room started to fill with black smoke, creeping in and gathering on the floor, avoiding a circle where she lay, unconscious. Rosa clung onto her newfound friends, Nova and Azeria, as they both tried to shield her from the death that was closing in around them.

She felt tears start to fall down her face as she watched her friends (sort of) form a circle around her. Bucky carried her, bridal style, out of the room and into the corridor beyond, right to the cell she had woken up in. It must have been torture, being slowly killed over and over again. And by his best friend too.

"Are you ok?" He said softly from behind her.

"I'm sorry." She turned and let him hold her, sobbing into his shoulder.

Rosa looked up as they walked in, beaming as she saw Kiki back to herself. She didn't seem to be scared at all, not even a little wary.

"Guess what, Kiki? In short due to stress Nova has accidental cat ears and can speak cat and Azeria said I can do that too and they talked but I wanted to join in so Nova cast a spell to let me understand and talk back and I'm a cat now so I told them about my school and I think they're gonna kill someone cos I can't understand them anymore you might wanna stop them," she said in one breath, gasping at the end.

Kiki blinked in surprise. If all this had happened, how long had she been out for?

"Kiki! You're back with us! It's been about a day," Sol appeared from the corner of the room, where she had been talking with Thor, and trying to get him sober with her magic. She was having slight success. "Bucky was extremely worried about you, Al. Like, you know-"

"No, Sola." She stopped her sister right there. "There is nothing going on. We are good friends, and he was worried about his friend, and also that I could kill everyone here if I lost control."

An agent ran in, panting. "They've surrounded us! There's more of them than we thought there was left!"

"Who?" The Avengers stood up collectively.

The agents eyes were wide with fear at the people clustered outside. "Hydra."
