Yesterday was an expected day for me. I had all kinds of emotions running through my mind. I was really tired. So, I slept peacefully after a long time. Usually, I'm half-awake when I try to sleep. A lot goes through my mind when I try to sleep but this time, I had no single thought that ruined my sleep. I felt refreshing.
Cold breeze from outside hit my face and woke me up. I noticed the time and it was long past my daily waking up time. I got ready in such a hurry that I forgot to have my breakfast. Running to school I could feel the cold air hitting my face and it was freaking cold.
I could reach school in time without running but I told Mina that I would come to school early and I'm already late by an hour.
I tried to avoid eye contact with everyone and went straight to my class. Mina was already in the class and there were some girls surrounding her but Mina was ignoring them. The girls saw me coming to the class and left from there with a disgust look towards me and Mina.
I went to my chair and pulled it back and looking at Mina said, "I'm sorry. I was late."
"It's alright. But what happened? You said you would always come early. Did anything happen on your way?"
"No...no, nothing like that. I just woke up late today. That's all."
"Oh... well, I was worried that you got into trouble."
"Why...why would you worry about me? ...and why did you think that I would get into trouble?" I asked her while sitting in my chair.
"It's just... I had feeling."
I just sat and said, "Don't worry. Nothing's going to happen."
"Can I ask you something?" Mina asked.
"Yeah sure"
"Why do our classmates hate you so much?" she asked with a worried look on her face.
"...I'm sorry but I can't tell you right now."
Mina remained silent.
I was wondering what happened between Mina and the other girls, before I came to class. So, I asked her.
"It's nothing. They were just trying to win me over and I ignored them. I guessed that got them really upset."
Knowing that she is trying to hide what they said to her I kept silent and knowing all my classmates I can imagine what they might have said.
Our homeroom teacher came into the class and started the class. Mina was quietly listening to the class and I was imagining how things could turn in the future.
I reawakened some painful memories. Trying to supress those emotions, my head started to hurt. I couldn't bear to be in the class so I stood up and went outside the class without saying anything to the teacher.
No one cared about that and it surprised Mina. It made her curious.
I ran to the roof top.
No one comes to the roof top in the entire school except me. Everyone knows that and the reason they don't come is me.
As the lunch break came close, I walked downstairs to my class. I waited outside the class till the teacher left.
By the time I could reach for my seat Mina came to me and asked, "What happened? Why did you leave the class all of a sudden and no one seemed to care, not even the teacher?"
"I got a headache. So, I went to the infirmary. And as for them not caring, it's always like that and it would be better if you don't get involved with me. It's time you understand that I'm an outcast in this school. People hate me here. It would do you no good sticking around me, instead it could cause you trouble."
