" congratulations seems too far fetched "Bidding a goodbye for probably good or for a long time, Charlotte convinced herself that she'd be fine. It's not like her sadistic father would barge right in Evelyn's home and murder her now, would he? He wouldn't. Charlotte was confident he wouldn't, especially not when he had a lot to sort out in the Wizarding world.
From going to study to a legendary school, Charlotte always aimed to please her grades to an exceptional setting, using it as a distraction to the roots of her problems in her life. Always exceeding, never failed a subject even once no matter how exhausted she'd get to even lift a quill to write. It was not surprising she became a Prefect and Head Girl in the Slytherin house.
But all that extra subjects she took, time she went through in the library and Astronomy Tower, Charlotte knew all of it was a waste of her time.
Dropping Care for Magical Creatures and a few non-major subjects more, Charlotte approached Professor Dumbledore for help about her maternal lineage. In her Third year, Dumbledore told her that her grandfather was a well known wizard, mastering wandless and non-verbal magic with practice of ease.
There was a forgotten Prophecy that this man's granddaughter, coming of prime age and an era that will set the Wizarding world to stone, she would either be bore with powers that will be extremely powerful to conquer the world or to save it from extinction. Charlotte didn't understand it and let alone let that Prophecy condemn her life to a course she's yet to live.
Though she did know one thing. Charlotte wanted to learn wandless magic, to enhance — to be powerful than anyone in her class.
Now she may sound like Tom Riddle, Charlotte refused to be like him. She didn't want to be like Lord Voldemort, feared by many just by name or gesture. To be greedy of power.
"Coffee?"
"Tea." Charlotte claims, sitting down on the bar stool and placing her coat behind her as she does. Leaky Cauldron was not a place to be when it's ten in the morning. There were hungover wizards scattered on a booth, preferably sleeping and snoring.
Not that it didn't matter, wizards from everywhere had been getting reckless, some suicidal and many just didn't really care if they're defenseless against Dark Wizards. It was up to the Ministry to save them and behind the shadows ; the Order.
"Charlotte Adler." James Potter, wearing a black fedora like an Auror in Chicago, struts inside the pub with its bell ringing behind him. "Drinking in broad daylight? Must be a hell of a meeting then." He sits down casually by the girl's right.
"Cheers." Charlotte mumbles, received the freshly brewed tea on the wooden counter of the bar. "Didn't you just graduate from Hogwarts? What are you doing in a pub?" She counters without giving James her full attention.
"Kidding me? I've been waiting seventeen years to legally get in a pub without using an illegal i.d.." Charlotte arches an eyebrow of what he means, glancing at him. "Ah, right. In a muggle's bar, they're unfairly strict of delinquents getting in."
"Delinquents like you and Sirius Black?"
"Precisely." James grins and then turns to the bartender cleaning a polished glass. "Tea, please." He raises his hand and the man behind the counter nods.
