chapter 12 the legend

Nathan rubbed his hand and then packed his notes in his bag and than walked out of the class and headed to Mrs. Fargus room. The door was slightly opened. there was a little bit of light leaking from the door frame. the wind outside started to pick up making Nathan believe a storm was rolling in.

Nathan got near the door and paused but before he opened it he heard Mrs. Fargus voice " well are you gonna stand there all night or come in for some answers" she asked in a joking tone. Nathan slowly opened the door and walked in Catherine fallowed behind him "shut the door please" Mrs. Fargus asked

Nathan shut the door than said "the books" as if he were asking a question. Mrs. Fargus pulled the books out from her desk and sat them on top for Nathan to grab. 

"turn to page 498" she explained. when Nathan turned to the page he saw a picture of a man who was part human and part dragon but only his eyes and nails and skin had changed. 

"wait that looks like the same thing that happens with Nathan when he has his nightmares" Catherine said as she looked at the picture 

"its called the awakening" Mrs. Fargus explained "when a dragon born has the blood of a god in their body and the blood of a dragon it allows the person to have both god and dragon born abilities" Mrs. Fargus said to Nathan as she looked at him and continued to say "Now at first I thought that's what Nathan was an awakening dragon born but...."

"but what" Nathan asked

"but my sources tell me when you were at the hospital and you yelled you made thunder roll as well and no normal dragon born can't do that or even a god for that matter. I think Nathan is something known as a pure blood"

Nathan laughed than said "a pure blood is something of legend"

"whats a pure blood" Catherine asked 

"a pure blood is a being that created the dragon borns he was the first true dragon born a creature that not only was more powerful than the gods but was believed to have created the gods. the creature had a human form but when he would use his magic his skin would start to gleam and than you would start to see a golden lizard like skip appear. the pure bloods name was... oh what was it..."

Nathan looked down and remembered a nightmare he had of a dragon that was golden and the dragons name was zerin. Nathan looked up and than said "zerin". Mrs Fargus looked in shock 

"yeah thats the name Zerin the first creature before any creature. the creature who saw the world come to be" Mrs. Fargus explained and than looked at Nathan with wonder and asked "but how did you know that name. the last scroll ever written about him or even mentioning him his in the hands of the sacred order"

"I had a dream when I was younger I was walking in the woods, it felt like the woods just got denser the further I went in , but, after walking I started to hear this voice it was whispering to me telling me to come closer. it was calling me out by my name and so I followed it. the voice led to a clearing where there were ancient buildings that had this strange writing on them and in the center of the place was this dragon laying down. it looked weak like it was nearly ready to die. so I got closer to it and when I did the dragon lifted its head and spoke to me he said his name was zerin and the time had come for him to move on to the next life. he made me reach my hand out and when I did the dragon lifted its head and this strange symbol burned on my hand after that I started to change into that same dragon only my eyes were orange. after that I woke up and never had that dream again"

"are you sure it was a dream" Mrs. Fargus asked with a smile

"what kind of question is that of course it was a dream" Catherine said while looking at Nathan and she saw Nathan have a look on his face that did not look so certain "Nathan" Catherine finally said 

"well" Nathan said slowly

"well what" Catherine said while looking at him 

"I do remember waking up that morning with mud on my feet and I found leafs in my hair" as Nathan said that the storm outside grabbed his attention. lightning was striking in the air, the wind had gotten strong enough to start blowing over trash cans. Nathan walked over near the window and saw the trees shaking and off in the distance he saw a dark cloud that did not look like the rest.

"the storm is getting closer you should get home soon" Mrs. Fargus explained

"that's no normal storm" Nathan said as he started to clench his fist " hes coming" Nathans hands started to glow and than he looked back at Mrs. Fargus and said "if you have any magic now would be the time to use it" he explained and than his eyes changed to dragon eyes and he let his claws grow out. "get ready for a fight" Nathan said
