After around a week and a half, I was fully accustomed to my new life and didn't see any point in looking back. Yes, I loved Frankie to death, but I was worried about what would entail if he found out I was a vampire. I was afraid of my new self a little which is another reason I was not planning on visiting Frank. You see, recently turned vampires have less control over their abilities and other features of being a vampire. This means you have little control over when you're thirsty for blood, who and when you lash out and end up sucking a person bone dry. In short, I was terrified of hurting Frank.
Even after an eternity passes, you still have your slip-ups. Gerard lost control the night I was turned and ended up feeding off of that guy in the hall which was why I had to be converted. Also, the fact that he thought I was fucking dead would be hard to explain.
Gerard and I had come back from a day on the town. Us just relishing in each other's presence on a date that seemed like something a normal couple would do. I reminisced often while we were out; It felt odd to walk amongst the humans for the first time as the immortal I had become.
We hit up the comic book store first, Gerard seemed like a little kid on Christmas. I could listen to him geek out about it all forever. It was one of the first times I had seen him drop the 'I'm such a hot, sexy, and mysterious man Oooooh. Lust for me, Sugar,' persona and be unapologetically normal. To this, I found myself unable to get this stupid grin off my face. Gerard even commented, "What's got you so happy, Darling?" to which I responded with my satisfaction of seeing his true and honest self.
We sat on the couch, quickly finding ourselves cuddled together comfortably. Gerard seemed to be invigorated with my pleased acceptance and love for that side of himself he showed at the comic store, so he threw on The Dark Knight happily.
Those kinds of times were the ones that made me the happiest. Curled up in Gee's lap, a cozy blanket laid over the two of us. Him rubbing patterns into my side as we sat in blissful silence. I looked up at his entranced eyes. Those mesmerizing hazel eyes were glued to the TV, the screen reflecting off them. I caught myself in a trance, and before I could stop myself, the words slipped out of my mouth with ease. "I think I love you."
This seemed to break his stream of attention like scissors cutting a stretched string in half. His gaze shot down to me and looked perplexed, most likely his mind trying to figure out what I said and he didn't imagine it. "What did you say?" He articulated his confusion.
"I think I love you, Gee. Scrap that, I do love you." I said, pronouncing my words more clearly with confidence entering my tone. Then an uncertainty arose in me, thinking I had crossed a line and he wouldn't share the sentiment.
He tucked a strand of hair behind my ear, then placed his hand on my cheek to force me to maintain eye contact. "You're trembling Sugar, you don't have to worry because I feel the same. I love you too," he said in a tender whisper.
Our lips connected, not in sexual desire, but in a sincere raw emotion that neither of us shared together before. Hell, I'd never felt like that before myself. That moment and the feeling accompanying it was one that you would never forget. The kind you look back on as one of your fondest and most cherished. The whole thing felt so surreal, the feeling of undoubtful love.
We pulled apart and just stared at each other for a good minute or so, both trying to fathom the life we were living together. Gerard whispered one last "I love you so much," as he kissed my cheek. We turned to find the movie was over and the credits were rolling. Gerard flicked it back over to regular TV and the news come on first. Everything seemed normal until,
Our mouths were slightly agape as a picture of the hotel popped up and the news reporter with her stereotypical reporter voice announced, "Breaking news as investigators just arrived at the tragic scene at the Hotel Bella Muerte. Triple homicide has ensued at the infamous Jersey hotel, one guest missing. Detectives say the missing woman was on their team and alerted authorities, yet they couldn't arrive at the scene in time. Any tips regarding this case are much appreciated and encouraged, but for now, they're trying to piece together this spree of crime and track down Y/n L/n. Back to you Tom," she finished with a solemn nod.
I looked at Gerard and he looked back to me before we both burst out in a continual cackle. "You're terrible!" I tried to get out while laughing as I hit his shoulder playfully.
"What can I say? I'm so dirty babe," he retorted. "But you love me," he then said with an adorable grin.
"And that I do," I said so overcome with hopeless love.
"This has been the best day ever," he commented as we resettled down on the couch from our little laughing fit.
"How come today specifically?"
"Cause I feel like I can be myself around you now. I don't have to keep up my image anymore. Also, the fact that you said what I've been scared to say, in fear of rejection." He explained.
"I was too, but now I feel free, as though a weight of some sort has been lifted off my chest," I expressed.
"You're stuck with me now though. Quite literally for forever," He smiled as he seemed excited to spend eternity with me. My heart fluttered and a blush dusted over my cheeks, it felt great to be so wanted and loved by a person.
"I think I'm fine with that," I giggled as we were so immersed in happiness it felt like a dream.
Life was a dream with him. Every cliche feeling and need that the girls in my high school would talk endlessly about were met. I just would have never thought that finding true love would be dating a vampire, yet it checks out. Frank could finally shut up about my bitching about a hot vampire not coming to scoop me up and carry me off into the sunset, 'cause that basically did happen in the end. Love can come in mysterious ways, and I couldn't be happier with the wacky way my true love came.

A/n: Yo! So that's the end of book one of this. I didn't think this would be so fun to write about, thus the boring end of this one. But yes there will be another in the future (see prior chap. for details). I hope you enjoyed it and I'll see you in the next one. As always, my next fic will be up in a week or so. Have a lovely day rats! - Sav
