Hi loves! Sorry it took me so long to post. I had been writing and second guessing myself, but tonight I was like "whatever I'm just going to post it." if you think it is too fluffy... sorry. It is basically a love story, but I promise there will be a plot soon. Anyway I hope you enjoy it, and I will hopefully get another chapter posted soon. Thanks sooooo much for reading!

Rhys.

He was all alone in the mountain palace.

Where was our father? Our mother?

I watched Rhys sink to his knees and his whole body started shaking.

Tears were streaming out of his eyes so fast. He looked like he was in so much pain.

I wanted to go to him. To wrap my arms around him and ask what was wrong. To tell him I loved him, but I couldn't move.

It was like watching a living painting. Impossible to travel into.

I turned to my right and found my father. A single tear on his cheek as he saw my brother– his son.

I turned to my left and found my mother. Her arms were wrapped around body trying to hold herself together as hot tears rolled off of her cheeks.

What was happening? Where were we?

Why was Rhysand alone? He should never have to be alone—

I inhaled deeply, as my eyes shot open.

I blinked away the stinging in my temples. Another vision in my sleep. Great.

My visions usually weren't this close together unless I was actively trying to see into the future.

Gods, these visions were terrible. I hated what kinds of feelings they conjured.

Seeing Rhysand in pain alone...

That would never happen. I would never let it.

Visions are a lot like dreams. Most times what happens in them doesn't correlate exactly to reality.

That's why there are books on vision readings. I made a mental note to look for some—

I heard a soft inhale and exhale and remembered that I was not in night court.

I turned and found Tamlin sleeping soundly next to me. I couldn't help but stare.

Gods, he was beautiful. Easily the most beautiful male I had ever seen.

The contours of his face against the sunlight, the bow of his lips, the rising and falling of his well formed chest.

I couldn't see his magnifying jade green eyes but the contrast of his dark lashes against his tanned skin was equally as entrancing.

My eyes widened as I took in the hand he still gripped tightly to his chest. As if sleep couldn't separate us.

I laughed softly. This is insane, I told myself, absolutely insane.

I knew I shouldn't have come... but he was my mate.

My mate.

The words kept echoing in my head. I still didn't truly believe it, but how could I not. He was right here next to me, and nothing— absolutely nothing else mattered.

I brushed my thumb against the hand that held mine and his eyes slowly fluttered open.

He blinked a few times before turning to me. His green eyes, clear and bright.
