this is another chapter with split POVs btw.
----------------------------------------
The next week Luna came every night.
The days blended together like the colors of a sunrise. Tamlin couldn't remember where they were or what time it was, only that it was wonderful.
He finished talking with Nial and headed back to the cottage with a smile on his face.
He didn't think about his father or his court or anything else on the damned continent except for her.
Every hour, minute, second spent with her was... Tamlin didn't even have a word for it.
He couldn't put into words what she made him feel.
To say he was excited to see her would be an understatement.
He was ecstatic.
To see her, talk to her, and kiss her.
He didn't understand how he became so consumed in her so quickly. He never got any sleep anymore because he was either talking to Luna or thinking about her.
And he couldn't stop.
He waited in the kitchen, his heart beating erratically. He could feel her through the bond all the time now. In the middle of training he would be overcome with joy and have the urge to laugh. Sometimes it would be excitement or embarrassment. Tamlin treasured any emotion he felt from his mate.
The bond flared brightly in his chest— and there she was.
Tamlin didn't hesitate before pulling her into his arms and kissing her like he hadn't seen her in an eon.
No matter how many times he did it, it would never be enough. Kissing her, holding her, being with her. He never wanted it to end.
She didn't hesitate when he kissed her. She only met him with equal pressure and heat.
Tamlin felt like he was dying, and she was his only source of life, of air. So he kissed her– his mate until he felt alive again.
"Hello to you too." Tamlin smiled at the breathlessness in her voice.
He allowed himself to study her. The contours of her face, the color of her skin. The light in her eyes. Her wind blown hair.
She was perfect.
And she was his.
"I want to take you somewhere." he drew in a shaky breath as her hands slid down his chest.
"Where?"
"It's a surprise." he released her from his arms and took her hand in his.
"What kind of surprise?" she gripped onto his hand and he led them out the door.
"I can't tell you that?"
"Why not?" he could still see her frown in the dark.
"Then it wouldn't be a surprise."
The sounds of night slowly consumed their conversation. The breeze was almost as soothing as the view above them.
This was always his favorite time of night. Where the stars and moon shone brightly.
"I wish I could take you to night court." Tamlin felt sorrow through the bond.
He brought her hand to his mouth and kissed her knuckles. "One day," he whispered. "One day, you will."
