What is he doing? The shapeshifter remains hunched over on the floor as I scurry back up to my feet. I watch carefully as I start to hear the loud snaps and cracks of bones. I look down and see the uncomfortable sight of fur growing out from skin and bones shifting position from under the stretching skin. Shit , I hurry to grab a weapon and when I turn around I'm faced with a small dog. Coming up no higher then my knee; it starts to wonder around the cabin. Nose trailing along the floor before ending on my worn down cot. His head suddenly jumps to me before the erie crack refills the space. Now I'm just uncomfortable as a fully nude man stands in front of me and holds up the woollen blanket that laid on my bed.

"She lives here?" He says in a concerned tone that confuses me, until I realize what he means ...Blake.

"Yes, wait you know her? Where is she? Have you seen her?" I ask a flurry of questions hoping for answers. Not realizing how close to him I've gotten.

"Yes I met her, where she is I have no clue I thought she would of made it back to where ever she came from if I'm honest. I'd been running for well over 2 days." He looks down clearly questioning why she is missing as much as I am.

2 days since he's seen her, 2 days she could be anywhere! I can feel my anger rise as I clench my fists. The irritation I feel for not chasing after her when she ran into the forest due to my cowardice weighs heavy on my mind.

Not again will my cowardice prevail.

I storm to the door past the shapeshifter and grab a coat I have hanging close by. I will find Blake.

~~2 hours later~~

I have been trudging through the thick forest for most of the morning and I'm not so oblivious I don't hear the foot steps that follow me.

"Why are you following me?" I ask the shifter not bothering to look back.

"You left with such purpose I decided to see what you are doing, though even after all this time I yet to understand your actions." He reply's clearly question my sanity as I walk with a confident stride to practically nowhere.

"If you must know that girl you saw before is a friend. She is odd and seemingly oblivious so I concern for her safety. I figure following this path to where the dense forest meets the normal I might find a trace of her." I explain to him with satisfaction in my words, proving I do have a plan when a hysteric kind of laugh fills my ears.

I turn and see the shifter practically rolling in the ground laughing. This fucking shifter is laughing at me! I clench my fists and storm up to his hunch over form.

"And what pray tell do you find so funny shifter" I growl out showing my annoyance at his reaction what I thought was a good plan.

Realizing my hostile tone he stands now at a semi equal height him still being a few inches taller, with a straight face.

"I would like to find her as-well you know and if that was your goal setting out I could have made this a lot quicker."

I look at him with a questionable expression encouraging him to speak more. He lets out a sigh then continues.

"I know her scent, if I shift to a dog or some creature with a good nose I can track her. If I knew this was your goal when u stormed out we could have saved these two hours since I have yet to scent anything even close to her so far."

His explanation both has me enraged and relieved, relieved at the fact we are more likely to find Blake and much faster as-well, enraged that we had spent two hours going the wrong direction without him uttering a word. I take a deep breath to calm myself remembering he didn't exactly know what I was doing but his humour towards the situation when he started laughing has me questioning his motives.

"Transform and lead the way then shifter..." my tone is flat to show my clear dislike towards him.

He shrugs it off "call me bailey."

I raise a brow at the almost command that he spoke so clearly.

"And why would I do that shifter?" I narrow my eyes when his meet mine the colour changing to a swarm of shimmers in his iris.

His cold voice catches me by surprise matching with the subtle predatory aura that now surrounds him "because if you keep saying shifter like I'm some kind of mutt I might just kill you and find the girl on my own..."

...

A silence lingers between us as I break eye contact feeling the weight of intimidation pushing my head down. He sports a cocky grin after that and transforms into the same dog that was in my and Blake's cabin. Quickly leading me back towards the way we came closer to where a scent of her could actually be followed.

(I can't remember if I edited this chapter or not sooooo yeah.... Could be grammatical errors at parts sorry if that's the case)
