Cabo San Lucas Mexico/Toni Braxton-
Finally after a near eight hour flight and a hour drive time filled with whining and grumbling, mostly from my fourteen year old sister, Tamar, we finally made it to the resort where we will be staying for two weeks for our annual summer vacation family trip. Fourteen days or me having to deal with my family before I went back home to- "Toni will you get a move on I have to pee!" Trina says trying to push me out of the cab and I roll my eyes before jumping out. Happy Birthday to me.
I quickly grab my suitcase from the trunk along with my duffel bag before the worker can get it ready to escape to whatever room I am in and take a nap to deal with the headache that started since I entered the plane. "Welcome to Hard Rock Hotel Cabo, how may we help you today?" The friendly hotel clerk says as we approach the front desk. "Hello I'm Evelyn Braxton I have rooms reserved for two weeks" my mom says is her "white voice" the ones she usually reserves when she answers an important phone call or when dealing with her boss.
The clerk taps away at her keyboard and I grow bored and start to look around. This place is beautiful. I look back at my mom and dad to see them still talking to the woman, and my sisters are busy strolling through their phones so I decide to walk around a little bit. This place looks expensive, with the high ceilings and the fancy dresses people walking about. Almost like they are here for business instead of a vacation or in my case to get away from the drama that I left behind back in Maryland.
"Te dije que no me molestes por dos semanas!" I hear from behind me and I turn to see a...goddess walking my way almost like she is on a runway made purely for her pleasure. "Porque necesito un descanso!" She says hurriedly in Spanish her high heels clacking around for emphasis. She brushes past me leaving a trail of sweet smelling mangoes and something else that is purely intoxicating and I nearly faint from the combination. If this is the only birthday gift I get for years it will be enough.
"Toni girl will you come on we have our rooms!" Towanda yells and I look up from my daze to see her walking towards me looking ready to call it a day also. "Here I come" I mumble dragging my suitcase after her and back towards my family who are standing on the elevator waiting for me. We enter the elevator and my parents press the button for the fifth floor, "okay Trina and Tamar you two will be sharing a room, and Wanda and Traci you two will be sharing a room. Y'all will behave yourselves and act like y'all got some sense you hear me?" She says as the elevator stops and we all get off. "Yes ma'am" they say at the same time and she nods before handing them all their keys and the run off to find their rooms, their luggage was already brought up.
