it was the day after and dylan had come over to have a movie night with ally, julia and I.
I kind of avoided talking to dylan all night until I was preparing the popcorn in the kitchen while they were all in the living room. I heard footsteps behind me and then dylan's voice.
"hey." he said as he walked in the kitchen.
"hi."
"I feel like you've been avoiding me since yesterday."
"what? me? pff noo!"
"okay. umm, can we talk?"
"sure. what's up?" I said as I put the dishes in the sink and turned to face him. I started guessing what he is going to say.
does he want to talk about us having a moment and almost kissing?
does he know that I want to kiss him for real this time?
is he going to ask me out maybe?
"I-umm, I think we should talk about yesterday. when we were playing uno."
oh god
"oh okay."
"I think we had a moment there. but you know I think it was because of the wine we were drinking and we just caught up in the moment."
oh god I don't don't like where this is going.
"I think we should forget about it." he continued.
well that was not what I was hoping for.
"yes! I totally agree with you. we should." I said totally lying.
"good. because I don't want to ruin our friendship and make things weird."
"yeah me neither."
"glad we agree. let me help you." he said and walked towards me.
"thanks I got it." I stepped out of his way,took the popcorn, quickly left the kitchen and left dylan standing there. guess we was confused.
we watched the rest of the movie in silence. only julia and all talked a few times. but dylan and I were silent the whole time. I felt his eyes on me a few times but I didn't look back. the screen was showing the credits when julia broke the silence.
"what is wrong with you two? you're so quiet." she looked at us both.
"I'm just tired sorry." I said smiling slightly at her hoping she believes me.
"yeah I should go too." dylan said as he got up from the couch and grabbed his jacket.
"you can stay the night if you want." julia offered.
"no it's okay. I'm gonna go home."
dylan said goodbye and left.
I helped julia and ally to clean up and then said good night and went to my room.
