note: i'm so sorry for not updating last sunday! i was so busy with school assignments!

days later, beomgyu was scrolling on his laptop, searching for what he wanted to find.

"aha!" beomgyu smiled, clicking on the link that appeared.

"figure skating lessons for teenagers," beomgyu read aloud, then his eyes dropped to the price. "59,700 won..." he trailed off. "per hour!?" he gasped, throwing his hand over his heart.

ugh, i am so broke, the mullet haired boy thought, throwing his face into his hands.

beomgyu was searching for ice skating lessons for two specific reasons.

number one being that he had been wanting to learn how to skate better.

but the second reason was something a little more desperate.

he wanted taehyun to speak to him again.

beomgyu noticed that the only people taehyun spoke to were people on the hockey team. the raven haired boy believed that taehyun would acknowledge his presence if he began to learn how to skate.

beomgyu grabbed his phone, beginning to search for part-time jobs. he found one available at a public library. perfect.

then, he quickly snapped a picture of the ice skating lesson link, sending the photo to jeongin.

beomgyu: hey innie, check this out

beomgyu sent one attachment

beomgyu: wanna do this w me?

innie: bro i'm poor

beomgyu: dw, i found a part-time job we can do

innie: ok, sure. i'm in!

and with that, the two friends scheduled their first ice skating lesson and an interview for the job at the library.

------------------------------------

beomgyu adjusted his collared shirt and slacks, glancing at himself in his mirror.

"hey, be-" taehyung stood in his younger brother's door frame, looking the boy up and down. "woah, you look good," taehyung complimented, "not as good as me, though."

beomgyu rolled his eyes, turning to face the black-haired boy.

"ready to go?" taehyung asked, dangling his car keys on his finger.

"yep!" beomgyu nodded.

------------------------------------

"i'm kinda nervous," beomgyu broke the silence as he looked out of the car window.

"you'll do great!" taehyung smiled, and took ahold of beomgyu's fidgeting hand. "stop shaking, there is no need to be scared. besides, you looked over and practiced some sample interview questions, correct?"

"mhm," beomgyu mumbled.

"they won't be as tough on you since it's your first job," taehyung spoke as the car came to a stop, parking right in front of the library.

as beomgyu got out of the car, taehyung looked over at him. "good luck beom. call me if you need anything! text me the time you'll be finished at."

"okay, thanks hyung," beomgyu half smiled before closing the car door and heading inside.

beomgyu looked around the library. since he had only been living in this location for around two months, he hadn't had the chance to go there yet. the library smelled like fresh books, and it had a welcoming feel.

the library was quite big. it was three floors with shelves lining the walls. according to the sign that beomgyu had spotted at the entrance, the first floor was for children's books, the second floor was for both young adults and adults, and the third floor was a miscellaneous collection.

beomgyu hesitantly walked towards the front desk where an elderly woman was sitting. "excuse me?" beomgyu questioned, causing the lady to look up from the book she had been focused on.

"yes, dear?" the lady smiled, causing her eyes to crinkle around the edges.

"i was wondering if you knew where the job interviews were located?" beomgyu asked, his eyes scanning the area around him.

"oh, they are located on the third floor, first door on your right."

"thank you, ma'am." beomgyu bowed politely, then headed up the stairs located nearby.

------------------------------------

beomgyu was panting by the time he reached the third floor.

"oh my god," beomgyu whispered, out of breath, "that was painful."

beomgyu stood up straight and took a few deep breaths in an attempt to control his breathing. then, he finally faced the door to his right.

"i can do this," beomgyu muttered to himself, feigning confidence and opening the door.

inside was a small waiting room, where a few people around his age sat in the chairs lining the walls. he walked up to the desk at the front of it, seeing a middle-aged woman sitting there.

"hello? my name is choi beomgyu, and i'm here to interview for the library shelver job," he informed, seeing the woman look up and begin to scan a paper.

"choi beomgyu... choi beomgyu..." she murmered, trailing her fingers down a list. "ah, here you are. you will be called for your interview shortly."

"thank you, miss," he smiled, turning back to the seats behind him. his eyes traveled over a few seats before he found a familiar face.

"oh, hey innie!" beomgyu smiled, heading towards the dark-haired boy.

"hi, gyu!" jeongin grinned, patting the seat beside him, "you can sit here."

"are you here for the interview?" beomgyu asked, sitting beside the slightly older boy.

"yes. my interview should be any minute now. i've been waiting for the past ten minutes."

"good luck! i hope we both pass!" beomgyu looked around, "the library is really nice and peaceful. i would love to work here."

"me too," jeongin smiled, before the two heard his name being called. "i guess it's time for my interview. see you later, gyu!"

beomgyu waved to his friend which was leaving to be interviewed. the mullet haired boy attempted to calm his nerves, taking deep breaths.

a few moments later, his name was called.

beomgyu headed into the interview room, his hands shaking with nerves.

"choi beomgyu? i'm mrs. kang, a head at this library. are you ready to proceed with your interview?"

no way, beomgyu's eyes widened as he recognized the middle-aged woman sitting on the other side of the desk.

taehyun's mother?
