Jily Fanfic

Chapter 4

I am very sorry for not publishing fast. Pls forgive me I'm having school until 7.30pm everyday. If I am late pls forgive me and I will try and publish faster.

This chapter is kinda long! Enjoy!!

*LILY POV*

We entered and were greeted with a lot of whispering and staring. It was common knowledge that Lily Evens and James Potter can't stand in the same room without a fight breaking out. But here they are side-by-side.

"Is that James Potter?" someone asked.

"Potter is Head Boy?" Amos Diggory asked.

"What was Dumbledore thinking making a Mudblood  like her Head Girl" a voice said in a audible whisper.

I could see from the side of my eye that James visibly tensed up. I knew that he was going to do something he'll regret so I tried to stop him.

 James turned around to face Bellatrix Black and Severus Snape.

Whatever I told myself that Snape is no more my friend it hurts to see the cruel Death Eater wannabe that my sweet, gentle-natured friend has become. BUT he choose his path and I choose mine. I was broke out of thought when James's voice hit my ear.

" Bellatrix, Snape. I hope that Slytherin house will stop using that offensive word towards Muggle-borns especially if their are younger or more vulnerable. If I hear anyone of you, prefects using that word ever again I will :

1) Dock points from the offending house

2) Report you to the Head of your house

3) Take away your prefect privileges

4) Personally ask the Muggle-born to hex you into oblivion

I will be happy to see the change" James ended with a smile.

I was shocked that James who was known to act first, think second just told off those Slytherins. The whole compartment was shocked beyond their wits. Bellatrix recovered fast and said "You are a disgrace to your whole blood line, Potter. A blood traitor. You're also running after a Mudblood like her".

That was  the last straw. Both of us in perfect unison said "That's enough, Bellatrix".

*JAMES POV*

"That's enough, Bellatrix" Lily and I put her down. She was fuming but Snape looked livid that Lily defended me.

After that, the meeting went smoothly. There were a few questions that Lily answered immediately. We discussed patrol time and many more stuff.

"Ok. Off you go, you lot. Make sure to patrol the corridors on the train following the schedule" I said, dismissing them.

The prefects all left. I waited for Lily while she collected her things. I bent down to help her when I saw her silently crying. She sniffed and wiped her tears away before looking up at me.

"Hey Lily. What's wrong? Did I hurt you in anyway? Did anyone?" I hated when she cried. It broke something in me every time she cried.

"No. Thanks James. For standing up to those Slytherins for me" She sniffed.

I was shocked. What did she expect me to do? Let her suffer? SO what I did was I pulled her into a hug and let her cry into my robes.

"It's ok Lils. You will always have me. I will always be here for you. We all will. Always and forever" I said while stroking her hair. 

While we stood there embraced the train suddenly lurched and we fell on top each other. I saw Lily blushing furiously. Her faced matched her hair. I quickly rolled off of her and helped her to her feet.

"Come on. Let's go to the Marauder Compartment. The girls are there already" I said as we walked together towards the compartment.

*LILY POV*

When James fell onto me my face brightened up. I could feel myself blushing and I couldn't stop until we got up and walked back to our compartment together.

"Look who decided to join us" Marlene said, sharing a knowing look with Sirius. "What held you back soo late, Prongs" Sirius asked smirking.

"We were just talking about Head stuff. Nothing to worry about" James said while walking over to sit beside Sirius. Lily sat beside Marlene. They were facing each other. Lily for some unknown reason saw James's lopsided grin and blushed.

"Get a grip, Lily" Lily told herself.

"You fancy him" 

"No I don't"

"Yes you do"

"Lily? Everything ok?" came James's voice full of concern. "Yea....Yea I'm fine" I replied.

Then suddenly Sirius exclaimed "LET'S PLAY TRUTH OR DARE"

James said with a smirk "Marauder style"

Both of them exchanged a look. The Marauder look. 

"What's that" Marlene asked them.

This time Remus answered them. "We all take a shot of Firewhiskey before starting. If you don't want to do a dare you must take 2 shots of Firewhiskey and we get to give you another dare."

The Marauders looked very excited. Their excitement was contagious so Alice, Marlene, Mary and I agreed. Unsurprisingly, Sirius took a bottle of Firewhiskey from his trunk and handed it around. We girls, Peter and Remus flinched when the drink made contact with our throat but James and Sirius drank easily and laughed at our response. 

"Ok! Now who wants to start?" Marlene asked no one in particular.

"I'll start. Moony!!!!!" James said with a smirk.

"Yes, Prongs?" said a slightly afraid Remus's voice.

"Truth or Dare?"

"Dare?" 

"Yes!! I dare you to kiss the lovely lady Mary" James said while smirking at the both of them.

Mary and Remus tensed up while blushing profusely. They looked like a tomato. Sirius burst out laughing at their faces. It was pretty funny!!

"If you don't want to do the dare you must take 2 shots of Firewhiskey and we get to give you another dare." Marlene reminded Remus in a falsely innocent tone.

"Ummm..... Mary? Are you okay with the dare?" Remus, slightly blushing, looked at Mary.

"Ummm..... Yea I guess" She replied, her face on fire.

We girls know that Mary had a major crush on Remus and I swear I saw James and Sirius look at each other knowingly.

*JAMES POV*

"Ummm..... Mary? Are you okay with the dare?" Remus, slightly blushing, looked at Mary.

"Ummm..... Yea I guess" She replied, her face on fire.

Padfoot and I shared a smirk at this because we know that Remus Moony Lupin (I know that is not his name) has a huge crush on Mary Macdonald. It was perfect because I know that Mary has a crush on him too!!

Remus turned to kiss Mary and Mary leaned in too. The second their lips touched Sirius and I wolf-whistled. Lily and Marlene also looked extremely happy.

The game went on until Lily announced that it was time to get changed. Since Lily, Mary, Remus and I had came back from the Prefect Meeting we were already in our robes. Sirius and Marlene left to go and change.
