"Go!" I told them. I quickly gave them each a hug and a kiss, then pushed them towards the door of my classroom. "Run!"
Hoseok turned towards the door, but Jungkook just stood there. "You aren't coming with us?"
"I would just slow you down, baby," I told them. "I'll text you guys when I can get service."
Jungkook still didn't move. Instead, he frowned down at me. "You're not leaving the ship with us?"
"Jungkook, I can't," I said, reaching up to touch his face. "I have to stay on board. I have a job to do. I have students that depend on me."
"But..." He pouted a little. "I thought...since we found you..."
I looked to Hoseok for help and he came back over and grabbed Jungkook's arm. "She can't just drop her entire life for us, JK." I smiled at him, glad that he understood.
"But I don't want to lose you," Jungkook said. "We just found you."
I grabbed his hand and held it, then reached for Hoseok's as well, looking back-and-forth between the two of them. "You're not losing me. We'll figure this all out eventually. But for now, I have a job, that I love, and so do you."
I watched as Jungkook sighed, his whole body slumping, but he nodded his head. "I understand...I just...wanted to take you with me."
"I want her to go with us too, JK," Hoseok told him, then he looked at me. "More than anything. I hope that you know that."
I smiled at him and nodded my head. "I do. And I hope you both know that I want to go with you. But I have a room full of teenagers that are my responsibility. I can't abandon them like that. Especially if the whole ship is going to be quarantined for who knows how long."
"Okay, you're making it worse," Jungkook said. "Who knows how long? So who knows how long it will be before we can see you again?"
I shrugged at him. "I'm sorry, baby. I wish that it could be different."
Jungkook's eyes went wide, then, just as quickly, his face went back to normal. He leaned down and kissed me, then headed for the door.
Hoseok and I both watched him in surprise, then he leaned in and kissed me, too, whispering to me. "I don't know what just ran through his little, maknae head, but he's got a plan. We'll see you soon."
I nodded, wondering what Jungkook was thinking, then I watched as my two soulmates left my classroom. I waited a moment, then I followed them. I knew that there was no way that I could keep up with them, and I didn't want them moving any slower if they knew that I was behind them. But I couldn't help taking the opportunity to catch one more glimpse of them, even if I was just watching as they left the ship.
As I was heading for the main entrance/exit from the ship, I felt the ship rumble as the engines kicked on to get ready to send us out to sea. Damn. They had better hurry up. It was killing me to let them go. More than I thought it would. I had always been pretty independent. I always thought that, even if I found my soulmate, I would still be okay on my own when or if I needed to be. Apparently...I was wrong.
A part of me wanted to grab Hoseok and Jungkook and lock them in my cabin, so that they couldn't leave me. But the rational part of my brain knew that one, that would be kidnapping. Or...Idol-napping. And two, they both had an important job to do, and so did I.
When I finally got to the main lobby, I was expecting to walk over and watch them walk down the ramp from the ship. But they were still there and the ramp had already been retracted into the ship. We were moving away from the dock. Hoseok was arguing with the captain of our ship and Jungkook was standing by with his phone held out towards the captain.
