Kyungmi POV:

"Kyungmi! Hurry up!" My annoying father screamed at me with that blood red face of his. Well, he isn't like a father but more like a mean step dad. Rolling my eyes I grabbed hold of the bags like if my life depended on it. Holding on to it tightly though the rings of the bag started ripping through my skin. Trying hard not to let it drop hard on the ground I failed at doing so. Rubbing my hands to take away the stinging I could already tell what I was going to get.

"What are you doing? Pick them up!" My older step sister yelled.

'Just in time' I turned around to only glare at her. She, as always had that big smirk on her. Rubbing my fingers one more time I picked up the bags and walked inside the house.

"What's the point of even saying they're your family when they treat you like-"

"Kyungmi!" Someone squealed before I felt someone's body on top of mine. Hesitant, I only smiled and patted that persons head.

"Minjoo" I mocked her after I found my voice. She smiled at me deeply and shook her feet over my waist. Placing my hand over her back to keep her firm I felt a big sting on the palm of my hand.

"Ah" I schreeched. Letting Minjoo gently down on the ground I rubbed my finger and somewhat waited for it to heal.

"Kyungmi is sick?" Minjoo then asked with such a worried face. Smiling to deny it I grew curious. Playfully coughing I moaned in pain. "No! You can't be sick!" Minjoo yelled. She got hold of the same hand that stung and pulled me over to the couch and put a blanket over me.

"Kyungmi can't go to that signing" I whispered in pain. Looking down at her I wiggled my way out of her grip.

"But Kyungmi you have to go" She sniffed, her eyes already built up water in them. Carefully standing up from my potition I picked her up and ran my fingers through her eyes.

"Kyungmi wouldn't miss that signing for nothing" I cheerfully said. Looking at me her eyes grew full of happiness and she managed a cheer with it.

"You scared me Kyungmi" Minjoo looked down and played with her feet. Furrowing my eyebrows I shook her around until she looked up at me. Big mistake though, when she looked up she had managed to pull off a puppy face and I had no other choice but to feel bad about myself. What else do you expect from a little four year old girl at her age?

"Sorry but it’s funny playing with you" I tickled her before putting her down.

"Kyungmi! Come over here and finish these dishes!" Wr both heard my step dad screamed from the top of his lungs. Sighing I patted my little step sisters head and walked over to where the kitchen was at with a slow pace on me. "And when you are done make dinner" He ordered once more. Grunting I looked at the big pile of dishes.

Why did my life have to be like this?

-------------------

"Hurry up you dumb thing!" My step sister yelled at me from downstairs. I rubbed my face and furrowed my eyebrows.

"It's already time to go?" Asking myself I looked at the time. "Wow I overslept" Grunting I put on the random clothes I could find as fast as I could and jumped downstairs in a second. My step sister looked at me and scowled.

"What are you wearing?" She scoffed. I shrugged my shoulders. "You are not-"

"I can put whatever I want! It's not like they will look at me" I defended. She rolled her eyes.

"True, you are an ugly rat" She turned around with that same smirk and went out to go start the car. I swung my arms around and tried hard not to think about her words. No matter how hard I try it hurt me deep inside.
