Author's Note 6:

I do not know what to say this time, lol.

I personally feel like this chapter is a bit fast-paced, so I just hope that everyone can keep up. Lmao.

Update: Fixed a few minor grammatical errors.

Zhongli's POV:

"ZHONGLI!" Paimon shouted.

"Mr. Zhongli!" Keqing followed.

"Don't worry about me. My shield should be enough to keep me fighting," I replied while panting heavily, "now go. Escape this place."

"C'mon! The gate is closin'!" Xinyan called everyone from the exit.

Beidou grabbed Keqing and Paimon's hands and sprinted toward Xinyan. All four people fled the lab, leaving only me behind.

You must be wondering how I got here. Well, let's start from the beginning.

Earlier that day:

We arrived at Ritou after two hours of sailing. It was now almost midday, and everyone was exhausted. Captain Beidou approached a young blonde man with black and red clothes. If my memory doesn't fail me, he was called Thoma. He led everyone to a small camping area, where we rested for an hour.

By the time we were ready to continue, it had already been over 1:00 pm. The Traveller's small floating companion wanted to call for more help from familiar faces around the area but was stopped by Lady Keqing when she told everyone the time. We knew that we must make haste.

We sailed to Kannazuka using a small vessel from The Crux. From there, it was a long walk to our destination. It was almost 4:00 pm when we finally reached the place. Perhaps we would have got there sooner if it wasn't because of those robins and Hilichurls we had to fight on the way. We'd have had more time to rest and make some final preparations as well.

Childe assigned Xiangling the scout role. Knowing her excellent hiding ability from hunting, she was the perfect candidate for guarding the surroundings while avoiding drawing any attention. Childe would stay at the gate, prepared to infiltrate when necessary. Everyone else, including me, would attack the lab directly.

4:30 pm was when we struck. Captain Beidou kicked the door open, allowing everyone to enter. I led the way. Behind me were Keqing, Paimon, Beidou, and Xinyan in order. The alarm went off. However, we didn't care. We had chosen violence, and we would follow it to the end.

Surprisingly, there weren't any other security features except the alarm. In no time, we had met the Traveller. The blonde boy was injured and unconscious in a cage.
