8:00 P.M.
Location: Lexington building.
Use cellphone.
"Hello Olivia." I said
"Good to see you're alive." she quickly replies.
"No your not."
"How does it feel?"
"What?"
"Having the man you love die."
I laugh. "What makes you think I loved him. He was an assignment. You did my job for me."
"You're lying!"
"Am I really? Let me tell you did you snoop around my house. Of course you did. Did you see any photo of us? Did you check my closet? The clothes I wore isn't quite romantic.
"I know what you're trying to do. You're trying to act tough. When deep down you're hurt. You want to cry and ask, why did it have to happen? I tell you why. Revenge."
"I'm not lying to myself. You are. I killed your father without any remorse. He had a family, yet I didn't care."
"You're not aloud to speak about him!"
"Olivia you're the one who's lying. Deep down inside you want to cry. You had to come get revenge. If you were me you would've moved on the minute you saw his body."
"Stop it!"
"Why does it make you uncomfortable?" I preyed.
"I did you a favor." I said.
"What! You took everything away from me!"
"Come on I changed you! You were a brat! I gave you courage and most of all I gave you back bone."
"What do you want me to say? Thank You?"
"Oh god no. You won't thank me later on."
"What do you mean?"
"Hold on and you'll find out."
As Olivia was talking about her pain I approach a door. I knew that I had to open it. In the daylight it was just an ordinary door, oak paneled, in a sort of dark brown stained varnish colour. The large handle on the right was made of solid brass, gleaming like gold from the excessive use and regular polishing that it had endured over the years. The panels, solid and impenetrable, became, suddenly, like fetters designed to keep me outside, limiting my freedom and movement. I reach out slowly towards the door, and ran my hand down the door knob. I know I have to get inside, so I took out my lock pick set.
The first step is, I had to have a good understanding of how locks work. I Imagine a small tube surrounded by a larger tube. The smaller tube is the spinning barrel of the lock, where I will insert my tools. The larger tube is housing of the lock, which is stationary. When the barrel of the lock spins in the housing, the lock pulls the bolt, and you can open the door.
The trouble is, there are pieces inside the lock that exist solely to keep the barrel from spinning. Second, I have to put some torque, or circular tension, on the lock. I Take the tension wrench, which is the L-shaped tool in my kit, and insert the short part into the lower edge of the lock and turn it very gently. Using my right hand I hold the tension wrench in place. Then I use a U-shaped bump at the end. I Put the pick slowly into the lock, with the tip facing upwards. I would feel the pins push upward as I go deeper in.If the pins push up too high, they prevent the lock from spinning. If I don't push high enough, the second pin, which is stacked on top of the first pin, hangs too low, and again prevents the barrel from spinning.
