Midnight dropped Shirai off at the dorm building, helping him unload his things. Walking inside, he looked around in amazement at the interior. It was well-furnished, with a large lounge area with sofas.
There was also a large kitchen, dining table, and a few other small rooms. The pro hero informed him that since he was the first here, he could choose which room he wanted. The white-haired boy ended up choosing the farthest room from the elevator on the second floor.
"Hey kid, you need any help unpacking?" Midnight asked, putting the last box down in the empty room.
"No thank you, I'm fine. I do have a few questions though." He replied, looking around.
"Sure."
"First," he gestured to the room," am I allowed to paint the walls? And second, I kind of want to play music, but I don't want to bother others. Is there a music room I could use?"
Midnight grinned. "Of course you can paint the walls. And yes, we do have a music room and recording studio at UA, but I can arrange to have Cementoss make a basement, and we can build both right here. Then, if you don't have any more questions, I'll be off! Call the number written next to the phone downstairs if you need anything. See ya!"
And then she left before Shirai could even protest. Make an entirely new music room and recording studio just for him? Why? Shaking his head to clear his thoughts, he decided to go out and buy some gray paint for the walls.

Unpacking the last box, he stood back and surveyed his room with satisfaction.
His walls were painted in a comfortable shade of gray, not too bright or dark. On the right side of the room, his bed was in one corner, right next to his desk that sat in front of the window. The rice crackers had arrived as he was out shopping, those piled in the corner opposite the bed.
On the left side, he had a shelf filled with books, trinkets, and a pair of spare headphones. There was also a stand for his guitar, which was his favorite instrument. His closet was there too, with his clothes all neatly folded or hung up according to color.
Checking the time, he realized it was already late, and decided to just go to bed since he'd eaten dinner earlier.

It was the day before the UA Sports Festival, and Aizawa brought it up during homeroom.
"What's that?" Shirai asked, genuinely confused when everybody in the class gasped and stared at him like they couldn't believe their ears. "What?"
Midoriya looked at him as if he'd committed a crime. "Our sports festival is one of Japan's biggest events. Its popularity is on par with the Olympics from before quirks came to be." Aizawa commented, going on to explain about the internships and scouting done by pro heroes.
"Oh, okay. Well, when is it?" The class just stared at him again, until Midoriya spoke, "Tomorrow."
Shirai frowned, he would have to come up with some new ways to use Scorpion. Now that he could produce so much more and had much better control over it, he could experiment all he wanted.
At lunch, he usually sat alone, but this time one of his classmates went over to his table and sat in front of him. Looking up, he saw Jirou, the one with the earphone jacks. "What is it?" The boy said, not wanting to be rude but also not wanting to socialize.
"Oh, nothing major. I just wanted to see how you're doing, since you know, you don't really talk to anybody and you're always alone." She gave him an awkward smile. "If you don't want me here, then I can leave."
