As soon as he got home, Shirai heated up and ate a cup of ramen. It wasn't like he couldn't cook, it's just that he was too lazy to. Remembering that he had to finish his costume design, he quickly did just that and then returned to his room.

He changed out of his school uniform and pulled on a white t-shirt, black sweatpants and a light gray sweatshirt. Sitting down on the swivel chair in front of his desk, he yawned.

Opening his laptop, he pulled up a new search window and paused.. He thought about his options with Scorpion, the usability of it depended on his creativity. An idea popping into his head, he quickly searched up a picture of the human body.

Since he didn't have a trion body, his injuries would affect him differently. He had to be more careful, because here he couldn't just sacrifice an arm and have it come back later. What he thought was, if he had a broken bone, he could summon a bone-shaped Scorpion inside of him to hold together the shattered pieces, so he could still move if he was injured that way.

Of course, it was only a temporary fix, but it would be useful if he needed to get back to fighting.

Also, he could use Scorpion as a replacement for the Escudo that he used to have in his trigger. Fighting without them felt weird, and a few times in mock combat he caught himself holding a hand out to summon one, and when none came, he would have to jump to the side to dodge an attack.

Shirai spent the next hour or so memorizing the locations and shapes of the various bones that made up the human skeleton. Pushing himself away from the desk, he got up. Holding out a hand, he made each bone piece by piece from memory, fitting them all together. Soon, he stepped back and observed his work.

He'd created a replica, the model standing level his height. With a swish of his hand, the skeleton disappeared, and the boy went back to the laptop, clearing his previous search.

Just one more idea, then I'll go to bed, he reasoned.

Eyes unfocused, he imagined various scenarios playing out in his head, until an idea popped into his head.

He could use Scorpion to create a support of some sorts for his legs and feet, which could help with mobility and speed. However, he thought that creating a large support would be unnecessary and came up with a revised idea.

While he was running, he could summon small, blunt pieces of Scorpion at the balls of his feet, and the extra push could make him faster.

However, he would have to revise his costume to make sure that there were small holes in the soles of his shoes, small enough to prevent discomfort while running and large enough to stick a piece of Scorpion out that maximized his running speed.

He would also have to practice with it, and find a comfortable pattern for running.

Thankful that he hadn't sent the design in just yet, he quickly added the new addition and submitted it.

Yawning again, he checked the time. It was already 12:30, but he didn't need to wake up particularly early tomorrow since the UA sports festival started later.

The next morning, Shirai woke up, panicking slightly when he saw the time but then remembered that today was the UA sports festival. He did his daily morning routine, and made his way downstairs.

Grabbing a granola bar to eat on the way to UA, which would only be a short walk, he slipped on his shoes and exited the dorms, making sure he had his phone with him.

There were a lot of people milling around, enjoying the bright day and chattering noisily. Slightly squinting, he pulled his headphones and phone out of his bag to drown out the noise.
