Silas and I sat across from each other in the living room laughing at something on the tv, today it was only the two of us in the house Thor and Edward had gone fishing something they use to do when he was younger. When Thor had come down this morning and Edward if he wanted to go fishing like they use to, I swear I saw a tear fall from his eye before he turned around claiming he needed to get his stuff. Thor asked Silas as well but Silas kindly reminded him he was not about sitting all day hoping to catch something, I also declined for the same reason plus I think it would be nice for the two of them to have alone time.

"So, while they are away do you have anything you want to ask me?" I turned my attention from the tv to Silas with a confused look on my face.

"About Thor and his time here? About his mother, really anything. When you and Edward went too bad last night Thor and I had a talk and he's okay with me answering any questions you night ask. I was actually shocked he asked me to fill in some of the pieces, I think he's afraid if he tells you everything you'll grow scared of him."

I shook my head "I know why he thinks that but I wish he understood I'm not going anywhere."

Silas sat up in his recliner his face taking on that serious expression I hadn't seen since my first day here when he was thanking me.

"We all know Thor has been through some dark shit at such a young age, and that isn't something you just get over. Edward and I tried our hardest to help him and sometimes it would like he was willing to try and be here with us but then something in his head would go off and he would backstep again. He never yelled at us or tried to run away but you could tell he was biding his time, never letting himself get close. I think he's doing the same thing with you, I don't doubt my son loves you but he's lived in the shadow of the horror that bastard put him through he doesn't know how to fully accept the light in his life. He's waiting for you to realize he isn't worth the hassle and you let him go, with us he left before we could let him go which we would have never done."

I couldn't help the solemn look on my face it hurt me knowing just how deep Thor's pain went.

"I'm sure he left some piece out but Thor told me the full story of how yall eventually made your way here, Charlotte if there is one thing I learned from what he told me it's that you're a strong woman who doesn't scare easy. I'm a big man but ain't no way I would have been wandering through no jungle to find someone I only met once. I have no doubt in my mind that you love Thor just as much as he loves you and you aren't going anywhere."

"Thank you." I whispered "Did he tell you he killed people for me? The people that raped me?"

He nodded "He didn't tell me the why, but he did tell me he killed them. I'm sorry that happened and I'm glad he did. THor has a similar experience."

I gasped "No, no, no, no." I wanted to pull my hair out hadn't he gone through enough why.

"If it's okay I want to share a little about Kajsa and Greg's relationship and their life before Thor came to live with me, it might fill in some questions you may or may not have."

"Please," I whispered.

"Kajsa was born an only child to a dying family, her family like mine had been there from the start of Hofsfell, from the stories we started on the mountains and as time got on people trickled to where Hofsfell now resides. Kajsa Anttila was an absolute ball of pure love and light which is funny because her first name means 'Pure'. She was the kind of person who would say hi to any and everyone and would help anyone in need without thinking about it or asking why. Greg moved to town when we were in high school her being a freshman and us the grade above her, she was immediately smitten with her I think his stories of New York pulled her in, she always dreamed of being a Broadway star and she could have made it."
