My parents had gotten here about three days ago and it has been a ball. I loved having them staying with me because I always woke up to breakfast made and came home to dinner on the table. Tonight Thomas was coming over. He wanted to get to know my parents without the stressor of them having to meet everyone else in a busy restaurant.

"Now you guys promise to be nice. Thomas should be here in about 5 minutes."  I said looking over at the table making sure everything was perfect.

"Who do you think we are? We aren't going to rip the man to shreds, just going cross-examine him and make sure he's the right fit for our perfect daughter." My dad laughed placing honey garlic salmon down and my mom was close by with the green beans.

"Yeah what your dad said from what we heard so far he's a great guy so it shouldn't be a problem. Plus we are excited that you finally have someone in your life who knows how special and stunning you are baby girl."

"So Thomas as you know, our daughter is the light of our lives, and so far all your answers to our questions have been good. We know we can be a little high strung when it comes to Charlotte but she's a young woman in a town surrounded by people that have known each other for years, and she could still be viewed as an outsider and we can't protect her here."

Thomas grabbed my hand and looked at me lovingly "I would never allow anyone to let her feel like an outsider. Your daughter is one of the smartest, most talented people I've ever met. I wouldn't do anything to betray her trust in me." He kissed my hand and my mother awed and my father looked proud. I was so happy dinner went well and Thomas took all their intense questions in stride.

"Thank you so much for coming tonight." I wrapped my arms around Thomas' neck. As we stood on my front porch I was glad that dinner tonight went well, my parents seemed to like Thomas and he knew it based on how he smiled at me. All his worry had been for nothing.

"It really wasn't a problem, I'm glad I got to meet them before tomorrow's dinner." He kissed me and usually it would turn into a full-on makeout session, but I guess knowing my parents were right behind the door I had to settle for a little peck. "Love you and see you tomorrow." He turned away leaving me wide-eyed hearing him say it again.

Walking back into the house I was stunned.

"Hey, baby girl everything alright?" My mom asked and I just turned to look at her.

I thought about bringing up the subject but it just didn't feel right "So? What do you think of Thomas?" I asked excitedly, although I wasn't sure how to feel about him saying the 'love' word I still really, really liked him and wanted my parents to as well.

My father nodded pausing the TV "I think he's a fine man. Smart, family man and most importantly I can see that he loves you." there it was again the love word.

"I agree with your father, he's a good man, I do like him. However, he's really polished." and that was it that was all she said about that.

"Do they still think I'm an old man?" Thor chuckled and I watched as his muscles flexed ever so slightly. I had just dropped off his outfit for tonight and gave him the needed info on my parents and the Shaw's.

"That isn't funny... every time I would try and tell them they interrupted me, so I don't know how they are going to react-" I motioned up and down to him. "To you." He grinned which told me he was about to say some smart ass shit.

"You don't think your boyfriend is going to be upset, right?" I rolled my eyes for a while now whenever the subject of Thomas came up, Thor always had something smart to say.
