Day 28: Car Ride

'Hello Mr. Deeks.' Hetty said to Deeks.

'Hello Hetty, what do you need?' Deeks asked.

'To talk to you. I see you're going out.'

'Yeah, going for a drive. Wanna come?'

After a mile

'So, what'd you want to talk to me about?' Deeks asked.

'How are you and Miss Blye doing?'

'We're doing fine, you?'

'Fine. Thank you for asking.' Hetty said.

'Is that all you wanted to ask?'

'No. Just, wanted to spend time with you, that's all.'

Deeks looked at Hetty, concerned after she said that.

'Are you okay? You, almost never want to spend time with me.' Deeks asked.

'Yes, I'm fine! I know I've hardly spent time with anyone lately, and I wanted to do something about it.'

'And, is there something else?'

'I can't say, but, I might be going away again soon.' Hetty said, looking sad.

'What? Where? Why?'

'I can't say, but, it's important work. I don't like the thought of leaving again, but, it's important work.'

'I miss you every time you leave. Everyone does. It worries us, especially after what happened 2 years ago.' Deeks said, pointing out the time they had to save her after she was taken captive after she disappeared suddenly.

'I know. I'll be careful, I promise.'

'Will you be able to contact us this time?'

'I don't know. But I hope to.' Hetty responded.

'Is this, secret mission I'm betting, really that important?'

'Yes, it is.'

'Is it to keep us safe?'

'I can't say, but, something like that.'

'Oh, okay. Will you be safe?' Deeks asked.

'Yes. Yes I will. Where ARE we going anyway? How long has it been?'

'Oh Just this nice shop, and it's only been 6 minutes.'

'Oh. Nice to know.' Hetty said.
