(Connie's POV)

The next day I headed to Steven's house to see him and Spinel. I was caught up on all of my studies and work so I had some free time for my boyfriend and girlfriend. However, when I arrived, I only saw Spinel there.

"Heya Connie! What's up?" Spinel said, giving me a kiss as I giggled and blushed. She was really sweet. It made me almost forget that not too long ago, she tried to kill us all. But since I didn't want to open old wounds, I abandoned that train of thought in particular and kissed her back.

"Hey Spinel. Where's Steven? I finally got some free time from my studies and wanted to spend it with you two. Did he go out?" I asked as Spinel nodded.

"Mhmm. He's helping Pearl with a class at Little Homeworld. He'll likely be gone for a few hours so I'm holding the fort until he gets back." She said as I smiled. While it was nice of her to watch the house, she deserved to go out as much as Steven or I did.

"Hey. Why don't you and I go out on a little date since Steven's busy with Pearl? By the time we get back, Steven should be back. Who knows? Knowing Pearl, she's probably got him back and forth, so that's more than likely to happen, I'd say." I said as Spinel looked at me in confusion.

"A date? What's that? Is that a thing you do when you're in a relationship like you, me and Steven are?" She asked as I giggled. Of course she doesn't know what a date is. I need to remember that I'm essentially talking to a far more clueless version of Steven. He and Spinel have so much in common that it's actually quite scary.

"Yes. It's a thing where we go out and have fun with each other. Don't worry. I'll show you." I said as Spinel smiled and took my hand as the two of us headed out. I had to be careful where I took her though. While I'm confident I can keep her safe, I know I'm nowhere near as strong as Steven is and I'm sure Spinel would feel much safer if he was here.

Nevertheless, I decided to just keep her around town. We headed to Funland and saw none other than my Dad. I figured now was as good a time as any to let him know what was up.

"Hey Daddy." I said sweetly as he saw me and smiled but that smile immediately turned into a look of uncertainty when he saw Spinel.

"Hey Connie. Uh.. who's your friend? Is she one of Steven's Gem friends?" He asked as Spinel smiled.

"Yup! I'm Spinel. I'm Connie and Steven's..." She began to say until I immediately cut her off, knowing that if it came out too fast, it'd blow up in my face.

"She's my girlfriend. And before you ask: No. Steven and I didn't break up. We're in a polygamous relationship. The 3 of us. I...was worried that you wouldn't approve, Daddy.." I said as he looked at me and sighed before hugging me.

"If it makes you happy, then fine. I approve. But I do want to talk to Steven later about this, so please let him know. And you know you still have your mother to tell about this." He said as I facepalmed.

Telling Mom was going to be the REAL challenge. It's not like I can just go up to her one day after she comes home and say :"Hey Mom! I'm in a 3 way relationship with Steven and the same alien who tried to poison the Earth!"

You get it. I needed a plan. But since today was about my date with Spinel and showing her a good time while Steven was teaching at Little Homeworld, that was my focus.

"Come on. Let's go on some rides, Spinel." I said as we went on different rides such as the Ferris wheel and other various rides. I saw a nice heart plushie that I knew she'd like. Problem is: It's the test of strength game which I've never been good at. But since I've always loved a challenge and Spinel seemed to be eyeing it, I decided to give it a try.
