(Connie's POV)
"Let's see....this equation goes here...and carry this one....or wait...was it....Ugh! This is painful." I said with a groan. Sometimes I miss being that shy and quiet girl who had her nose in fantasy books all the time. I know everyone changes and grows up, but I honestly wish I could go back in time back when things weren't so stressful.
But then again, if I did that, then I wouldn't be dating the boy I love. I looked at a picture that Steven and I took a couple of years ago on the beach. Things seemed so much easier back then. Back then, we were just two kids who had innocent love for each other. We were just best friends and we became closer as the years went on.
In all the time we've known each other, I can only think of one time I truly was angry at him. But we moved past it and it brought us even closer. Now, a couple of years later, he's so much more than just my best friend. He's my boyfriend. My true love.
I sighed as I looked at my assignments. I'm 15 years old! I shouldn't be doing this! Prepping for a College Tour at my age?!? Why are my parents so uptight?!? My thoughts are soon interrupted by someone reading something....
*"Once upon a time, I was a lonely human without a purpose."*
*"Until I met a boy who showed me who I am and that I'm not worthless"*
*"I trained with swords and learned to fight"*
*"I took a stand for what I knew was right"*
*"Now I'm dating a leader of outer space"*
*"And everyday I wanna kiss his adorable face because...."*
*"Now we are in the future."*
I immediately went red as I quickly looked at the doorway to my room and saw my Mom holding a sheet of paper with a smirk on her face.
"Mom?!? Where'd you find that?!? No one is supposed to know about that! Were you going through my bag?!? I told you: "Magic Stuff" doesn't mean I was doing drugs with Steven!!!" I exclaimed as Mom couldn't help but laugh.
"Oh calm down. You left it on the table. If you didn't want anyone seeing it, why leave it in such an open area? But my...I wonder what Steven would think if he saw this? I could text it to Greg and....." Mom began to say. She really wouldn't do that, would she?!? I'd die of embarrassment if Steven or the Gems saw that!!
"Mom, no! Please don't! What did I do wrong? I didn't mean to get distracted from my College prep...." I pleaded. I was practically begging her at this point, which is pathetic..
Mom then came and hugged me. "Connie, I'll tell you what: I'll just "forget" I saw this little secret of yours if you do this: Go spend time with Steven and have fun." She said, kissing my forehead as I was a bit surprised.
"What about my studies? I have to get ready for the College Tour, don't I?" I asked as Mom sighed.
"Connie, you're 15. You're still young and barely a sophomore in high school. You shouldn't be cooped up in your room studying for College this early in your high school years. Besides, every campus has an online course, so you can always do those and still be here with Steven. And....I'm sorry. I've seen what Steven goes through. The pressure he's always been under from his family. And seeing what happened to him made me realize that I need to stop doing the same to you." Mom said as I hugged her.
"I forgive you, Mom. And thank you so much. I love you." I said as I kissed her cheek and took off outside where Lion was.
"Take me to see Steven." I said as the Pink beast made a portal and took me through it.
Nice chapter with Connie and her Mom. Next Chapter: Connie goes to see Steven. See ya then.
