Regulus was annoyed, plain and simple.
He thought being a student at the Salvatore School would be a little more exciting. But he didn't count on Jed being so annoying. The boy had been pestering him all day for over a week, and it was starting to get on his nerves.
For being a part of a pack that always found itself stuck in more exciting things, Regulus hated confrontation. But back to Jed, the boy wanted Regulus in his pack, but he wasn't going to budge, there was no way he was going to ditch Scott for some werewolf hotshot.
Regulus nodded at whatever Leia was saying, his mind preoccupied with finding new ways to avoid Jed.
"As I was saying, vampires were created by Hope's grandmother, do you know how cool that is?" Leia asked.
"So cool," Regulus mumbled.
"You're not listening to me are you Reg?"
"Totally."
"I slept with Nikolai yesterday."
"Yeah, cool," Regulus paused, "You did what?"
"Kidding, I knew you weren't listening."
Regulus glared at his sister, but before Leia could explain herself, Jed and his wolves blocked the way through.
"Can you move out of the way?"
"No, we can't," Jed answered. "It's about time you showed me some respect."
"I'll show you respect when you earn it," Regulus spat.
"See, newbie," Jed said. "When a werewolf shows up here, he either submits to the pack the hard way or the easy way."
"What's the easy way?" Leia questioned.
Jed looked at Leia up and down. Regulus felt his stomach churn, no one looked at his sister like a piece of meat. "You tell us who you killed to activate your curse, or we beat it out of you, sweetheart."
"See," Regulus began, "I can't join your little pack. I already have one."
"An alpha who lets his beta leave, that's not good leadership."
