"DEREK!"
Derek gasped and sat up, sweat pouring down his face. He had the same nightmare every night. A brunette male being dragged out of a smoldering building by a black-haired male, screaming and begging for "this" to be a dream. It had been about a year and a half since the explosion that had caused Derek's amnesia, and the brunette he had seen screaming and crying had haunted his dreams ever since. Something about the brunette was familiar, but he couldn't remember anything.
He looked over at the time. It was 5:39 in the morning... Plenty of time to get ready for his flight to Quantico. He figured out where the brunette had gone and decided to follow him, hoping to regain his memories by doing so.
He got up and took a shower, washing the sweat from his body. He stood in the water for a few moments, trying to think. He wanted so desperately to remember what he had forgotten, but it hurt to try and force it.
Once Derek was done in the shower, he got dressed and packed his belongings. Quantico was a one-way flight. He wasn't leaving Quantico... he knew something was missing from his life and he vowed to try and return it to him.
A few hours later, he was boarding his plane, staring at his left hand. There was a tan line where a sort of ring had been missing. Had he been engaged...? He shook his head and instinctively pulled his hood up to conceal his face as someone sat beside him.
"Heading to Quantico on business?" The man beside him asked curiously.
Derek's eyes widened. Something about his voice was so familiar to him. He thought for a moment before glancing at the man. His heart started to pound as he saw the black-haired man from his nightmare. "I'm not sure. I'm trying to remember something... and I think Quantico is gonna help with that. What about you?"
The black-haired man nodded, looking away for a moment. "I'm heading home to my son. And I do work in Quantico. That's why I asked."
"I see."
Derek turned his head to look out the window, reaching into his hood and pulling his headphones up over his ears. He turned on his music and closed his eyes.

"Derek, we're back."
Derek opened his eyes, sitting up and stretching a bit. It had been a long flight from Anchorage back to Quantico, but he was happy to be home.
He looked around the jet, seeing fuzzy faces all around him. The jet itself was pretty fuzzy as well, and all he was able to make out was the direction of the exit.
There was a tugging on his arm, and he looked up to face it. There was the brunette, a smile written on his face as he gently tugged Derek by the arm.
"Whatcha doin, pretty boy?" Derek asked, standing up and pulling the brunette close to himself, the male's arms wrapping around his neck.
"Trying to get you to get up and go home. I'd like to cuddle tonight before we fall asleep." The male smiled and gently cupped his face.
"And this is why I love you, ..." Derek spoke, his own voice becoming fuzzy for a moment.
"I love you too, Derek."
He brought the brunette in for a kiss. It was sweet, yet passionate. It held years of love and adoration, but also melted away the years of pain and torment.
"Let's go home."

Derek woke up to a tap on his shoulder from the black-haired man. "What's up?"
"We've landed, sir." The man responded.
"Oh. Thank you."
The man nodded and stood up, grabbing his carry-on bag from the overhead compartment and filing out of the plane. Derek followed suit, heading to baggage claim. After picking up his bag, he saw the black-haired man with a little boy, watching as he picked the boy up and kissed his cheek. He wondered if the child was his son.
Derek sighed as he walked, finding a hotel to stay at. He then decided to take a walk. He wore a hood as he walked, the shadows concealing his face. He thought about the dream, about the brunette. He couldn't believe that he had kissed the brunette. Was that his fiance...?
As he was lost in thought, he bumped into someone by accident.
"Hey!"
Derek yelped and stopped, catching himself before he fell and catching the man he bumped into. "Oh my god, I am so sorry," He said before kneeling down to help him pick up his belongings. "I was lost in thought and didn't see where I was going."
"It's okay. It happens to everyone." The male responded, gratefully accepting Derek's help.
Once the two stood up, Derek got a good look at the man's face, and his eyes widened.
It was the brunette from his dreams.
