"Hello!"

Derek smiled warmly at the receptionist, walking up to the desk. He had heard something in passing about the brunette from his dreams being in the hospital, so he had decided to go and visit him. He was done hiding in the shadows to conceal his identity.

"Hi. I'm here to visit my fiance. Last name of Reid." Derek said swiftly. Damnit... what was his first name again?

"You're here to visit Dr. Reid? Alright. Can I have your name, sir?"

"Derek Morgan."

"Thank you." The receptionist's fingers danced across the keys of the computer keyboard as she typed.

Derek waited patiently, glancing at the time once out of curiosity. He looked back over at the receptionist once she stood up.

"Alright, sir. Please follow me."

Derek followed closely behind the woman, glancing at every room they passed. After a short moment of walking, they reached a room that Derek was incredibly familiar with, even with his amnesia. "Is he on suicide watch?"

The woman nodded, sighing softly. "He is. He was admitted for self-inflicted injuries to his arms and, at one point, made it clear he wanted to end his life. We placed him in suicide watch for his safety."

Derek's heart shattered when he heard what all had happened. It hurt to hear that the brunette had started hurting himself, of course, but what made it worse was hearing that he had suicidal tendencies. He knew what to steer clear of when talking to him now. He nodded in thanks. "Thank you." He said before opening the door.

The brunette was laying in bed, his bandaged arms crossed over his stomach as he watched out the window. He looked like he had been crying for quite some time now as he opened his mouth. "I said I'm fine. Just leave me alone..." His voice shook and caught as he spoke.

"That's not gonna happen, pretty boy."

The brunette's numb expression turned to that of shock and surprise. He was hesitant to turn around and face Derek, but covered his mouth and let a few tears fall when he finally did turn around.

"D-Derek? Is it really y-you...?" The brunette stammered, sitting upright in the bed as more tears fell from his glazed over eyes.

Derek walked over to the genius, sitting down next to him on the bed. "Yeah, it's me, baby. I'm sorry I took so long to come home."

The brunette sniffled softly, reaching out to touch Derek's face, and Derek let him do just that, pulling him in and hugging him close as the sniffles turned into choked sobs. "I'm here, baby... I'm here..." He said quietly, kissing his head.

The brunette hugged back, sobbing hysterically into Derek's shoulder as he did so. His body shook with every sob he uttered.

"T-Two years...! You've been gone for two years, four months, and seventeen days, and there wasn't a single day I didn't think about you," The brunette choked out between gasps and sobs. "I waited for you to come home... I was convinced you really were dead... I'm so sorry, Derek...!"

"It's okay, baby. It's okay... I'm here now, and I'm not leaving anytime soon," Derek whispered, running his finger through the genius' soft brown hair. He couldn't lie and say that he didn't miss this. He missed the brunette with his whole heart. He missed the tender moments that he still needed to remember, the cuddling that had been forgotten, and the kisses that felt oddly familiar. "I gotta tell you something though. And I want you to not be upset with me, okay?"

"Tell me anything. I promise I won't be upset." The brunette mumbled into Derek's shoulder.

Derek sighed, pulling away from the hug to cup the younger male's face. He gazed into his lover's eyes, finding a renewed sense of life in the brown orbs that stared back into his own. He struggled with the words for a moment, before finally finding his voice.

"I have amnesia... I'm slowly remembering things about the past, but there's a lot of things that I don't remember yet. Doctors told me it would be a while until I remember a whole lot because I got hit in the head in the explosion." He explained, his voice quiet and calm.

Spencer looked saddened by the news, but he pulled Derek in and kissed him sweetly. "It's okay... I'll help you remember." He said quietly, smiling at the older male.

"Good... Now, if my memory serves me right, I'm missing something, aren't I?" Derek smirked, playing with the ring on Spencer's left hand. "You kept this on for me for those two years, where's mine?"

Spencer smiled and pulled his hands away from Derek. "I managed to sneak this in here. They were supposed to take it in case I tried to use it to kill myself, but I managed to hide it before they could take it." He chuckled, reaching up behind his neck and unclasping something.

He pulled a chain out of his shirt, a ring threaded onto it. "I held onto it for you..."

Derek smiled and took the ring and chain from Spencer, looking at the ring and the engraving on the inside.

"I am yours. No refunds."
