as me and vi walked down the stairs, i played with my fingers nervously.

"wheres the-" vi was cut off from powder ramming her into a hug. powder looked up and realized the sad look on vi's face. vi pulled away from the hug and reached for something i couldn't quite see because i was turned around pinched the bridge of my nose looking down.

"wait those are vander's slow down, tell us what happened." mylo exclaimed looking at vi.

"benzos dead."

"dead?" claggor questioned.

"they took vander." vi said looking down.

"who took vander? mylo questioned once more.

"i don't know, but i need to help him." vi said.

"okay. we're going with you." mylo said trying to comfort vi.

"what ever killed benzo," i turned around and looked down leaning against the wall. "was like nothing i've ever seen. it tore him apart." vi began to cry.

"your not doing this alone vi." claggor said.

"he's our father too." mylo said.

"do you know where they took him?"

"ekko followed them. the old cannery next to the docks," vi answered "he said-" vi cut herself off catching powders gaze. she was ready to go too. vi sighed.

"i need you to sit this one out, powder."

"what?" powder asked confused.

"you're not coming."

"i'm not afraid." powder argued.

"it's not dangerous." vi said.

"but you said it yourself families stick together, you said it yourself!"

"i know what i said-" vi was cut off once more.

"i want to fight, i can help!"

"you're not ready." vi raised her voice a little. that's something she barely did with powder.

"your all i have left, i can't lose you." vi held powders face looking at her sympathetically. "here. if they come for you, take this and run. where ever you are, light it up, and i'll find you. i promise." she hugged her and leaned her head against powders. i smiled at powder softly and followed vi out. we all looked back at the small girl. then closed the door behind us.

we ran across a platform and saw vander. he spit out blood. me and vi quickly walked over to him.
