The bell rang, signalling the end of class, and my classmates around me began hastily packing up to leave. It was a busy time of the semester and many students are either hurrying off to club activities or heading home to study. But I found myself heading towards the staff room, this time, of my own accord.

"Shiro," Kimura sensei greeted me as I walked in, making my way to her desk. "What a surprise."

I took a seat in the chair opposite her and let my head rest on the desk for a few minutes before looking back up again.

"Are you okay, Shiro?"

I shook my head numbly.

"What happened?" She inquired. "Last time I spoke to you, you told me you're starting to get your life together."

"And the time before that I told you to fuck off." I replied blatantly. "Things change quickly around here if you haven't noticed."

"Look, if you're going to keep up that attitude, we can't talk."

"Sorry," I mumbled, lapsing back into silence.

After a while, Kimura spoke again. "It's to do with your friends, right? Does it involve the volleyball team?"

I nodded. "Partially."

"Then let's start there," she said. "What's going on with the team?"

"In short, pointless drama that escalated into the self destruction of all parties involved," I sighed. This was why I didn't like having friends. Grudgingly, I gave her a brief recount of what had happened in the most objective way possible and, as I had known, it wasn't easy. Of course, I left out the names.

"Ok, let me get one thing straight," Kimura intervened. "You've spent the last two years in total isolation and now you're telling me, you not only have friends, but got yourself a boyfriend? And that seemed like a good idea to you?"

"Look, it just... happened." I shrugged, equally as confused about this situation. It was pretty hard to believe, the idea that a fight between two friends started because of me. I would've called myself for capping if it wasn't awfully real.

"Okay, as the trusted adult of your choice, I must ask you this. Do you like him?"

Kimura's statement wasn't a hundred percent accurate. Sure, I trusted her to a certain degree, but if it were up to me... I sighed. There really wasn't much of a choice when the only adult in my life was my math teacher.

"Which one are we talking about?" I asked to clarify.

She gaped at me, as though I had just swallowed her stack of papers or something. "Shiro, are you serious?"

"That was a valid question." I defended myself. "So is it my boyfriend or..."

"Your boyfriend! Who else?" She snapped, before adding. "I don't even know who he is and I'm already starting to feel bad for the poor boy."
