~ SHIRO ~

It had only been three days since I first met Keiji, yet I'm finding it easier and easier to open up to him. Surprisingly, I was in a decent mood this morning as I entered the classroom, sitting down in my usual spot at the back.

I felt my phone buzz in my pocket. An unknowing smile graced my face as the screen lit up with an expected text from the boy.

Keiji: Morning Shiro :) what are you up to?

Shiro: What else? I'm at school.

Keiji: Oh well, that's unlucky for you.

Shiro: For me? What about you? Don't tell me you're skipping class...

Keiji: Me? I would never do that. We've been given today off for volleyball practice. You know, with the Spring Tournament coming up.

Shiro: Okay, we get it. You're the best setter in the Tokyo.

Keiji: I wouldn't say that. To be honest, I think yours is better. He's my friend, I think you might know him.

Shiro: Who?

Keiji: His name is Kenma Kozume. He's the same age as you.

Oh. That's... unexpected. I had always known that he was on the volleyball team, but I had never thought much of the positions. So he's a setter... and a really good one, by the looks of it.

Shiro: Oh, he's actually in my class. I guess we're friends.

Does he really consider me as a friend though? He already has a lot of friends.

Keiji: Really? That's good to hear. I'm surprised.

Shiro: Wait, why?

Keiji: Kenma's always been antisocial. You're probably the first girl he has ever befriended.

Really? I mean, he was really shy, but surely there were girls who took a liking to him. He wasn't unattractive. Maybe even the opposite. His golden eyes were actually quite... captivating...

Oh god, what am I thinking?

Shiro: Oh, for real?

Keiji: Yeah. Honestly, I'm proud of him. The boy finally came out of his shell. But who would've guessed it was for you?
