"Well, I guess I'm the exception."
"No, no, there never any exceptions not with me."Sherlock was not happy with the idea of not being able to deduce you no matter how many attempts he made.and he made a LOT. It was quite entertaining to see him like this. Someone who is normally so sure they know everything not able to figure something out. Well I guess he understands how everyone else feels.
"So, am I just gonna sit here or can I go because you aren't going to figure me out anytime soon."
"No, I WILL figure this out, I will..." He began mumbling again as he watched you from across the room. You hoped someone would come soon, and save you from having to sit here for another hour doing absolutely nothing.
Finally after another half hour Sherlock stopped pacing.
"Someone's here."
"How do you- never mind, who's here?"
"The British government."
"Why hello brother dear," a man a bit shorter than Sherlock stood in the doorway looking like, well, the embodiment of the British government. He was dress nicely and definitely looked like someone with lots of money and power.
"I didn't expect you to have company I thought you would have been bored out of your mind without a case."
"Oh, (y/n) has kept me busy enough," Sherlock said as he sat back down in a chair still watching you as if you might do a trick if he just watched close enough.
"(Y/n), hmm, keeping you busy how?" The 'British government' looked you up and down with the same confused look Sherlock had been giving you.
"Oh, I'm sure you just figured that out, Mycroft. Can't deduce her can you?" Ah, so his name is Mycroft a sophisticated name for a sophisticated guy. Did he have deduction abilities such as Sherlock? Well he must if Sherlock asked if he could deduce me. Mycroft didn't answer but he looked you up and down again before sitting down in the seat across from Sherlock.
"No, I cannot, but I see that you can't either." The room was dead silent as the two stared at each other. They must be siblings.look at the way they look at each other. Sherlock looks at him like an enemy, and Mycroft looks at him like he's a little kid acting older than he really is.
"So, Umm, what exactly is going on," you asked after the silence became unbearable.
"Mycroft you didn't stop by for a family reunion, so why are you here," Sherlock said still ignoring your presence.
"Ah, yes well I have a case for you."
"Don't want it."
"Pardon?"
"I don't. Want it."
"But aren't you bored I know for a fact you haven't had a case for some time now."
"I'm not bored."
"Oh, then why shoot a wall, and waste your time with miss (y/n)?"
"Hey, I am right here." Honestly you weren't sure if they were still aware of your presence. You watched them as they stared at each other for a moment more until Sherlock spoke again.
"Not interested."
-----------------------------------------------------
Mycroft and Sherlock argued for a while longer while you sat there awkwardly. Sherlock had picked up his violin, and plucked at the strings in a very un pleasant tune. While they were talking you were surprised that they hadn't told you to leave, and were considering leaving when John walked in."Sherlock are you alright," John asked.he looked worried, and was a bit winded. He must've ran up here. But why?
"Oh, me yes I'm fine gas leak," Sherlock stated, and you noticed for the first time the card board that was covering the windows. You could be a bit oblivious to your surroundings at times. Then you noticed the glass littering the floor. An explosion? How did you not notice? Well you were quite distracted with the whole Sherlock not being able to deduce you ordeal. Who could blame you for that he was very cute when he got frustrated-woah, woah, woah, wait you can't think he's cute. You hardly just met, and he doesn't seem the kind to be thought of as "cute" he's a highly intelligent sociopath for Peter sake! You shouldn't think he's cute right?
You were snapped back to reality when the others started talking again. You weren't very interested in what they were talking about, probably just the case Mycroft wanted sherlock to take, until you heard your name mentioned.
"Why is (y/n) here," John finally asked.
"Oh, yes she was here so I could try to figure out why I couldn't deduce her," sherlock stated simply with a bit of irritation in his words that could be mistaken for arrogance, but you know it's annoyance. It really bothers him that you can't be deduced in the blink of an eye.
u looked dow
Mycroft seemed fed up with Sherlock finally and gave the file to John. He explained how the victim had missile launch codes that are now missing. You couldn't help but wonder how this could have happened."It wasn't an accident." You and John both blurt out.
"Oh, sorry you can continue..." You trailed off a bit flustered now that all the attention had returned to you. You had silently deduced what might've happened. You aren't Sherlock Holmes, so you didn't get anything very useful, so you just waited for them to finish their talk while you sat there awkwardly.
You were snapped back to reality when Sherlock began to play hideous notes on his violin as Mycroft walked out.
"Why did you lie? You've got nothing on that's why the wall took a pounding, and why (y/n)'s here." John asked in confusion, and you were slightly offended at how he dismissed you as a something to pass the time.
"Why shouldn't I, by the way (y/n) is keeping me plenty busy." You smirked. He must not get along with his brother if he'd rather "investigate" you than an actual crime.
"Ah, sibling rivalry," you stated.
"Now we're getting somewhere." you felt Sherlocks eyes lock onto you again, and bore into you trying to divulge every last one of your secrets. The feeling sent a shiver down your spine, but was over Ina second as his gaze transferred from you to his phone as it began ringing.
"Sherlock Holmes... Of course how could I refuse," Sherlock hung up, "Letrade, I'm being summoned, coming?"
"If you want me too," John said as he stood up to follow Sherlock out the door. You followed suit and rose from the couch not sure what to do.
"Of course I'd be lost without my blogger."
You got outside and decided just to take a cab to your place. You of course got a cab before Sherlock, and John. You got in and started to tell the driver where to when Sherlock pushed his way in, and told the driver to take them to Scotland Yard.
"Um, Sherlock."
"What?"
"This was my cab."
"Ya, sorry he's like this," said John in an apologetic way.
"Why would we take two?" Sherlock asked obviously unaware you were going home.
"Because we are going to different places."
"No were not."
"What we aren't. Since when-" the cab stopped in front of Scotland Yard, and as Sherlock got out he said something that made your heart leap, "Join the game, (y/n)."
