"Hey dude, haven't seen you in ages!"
Jeno heard the smooth voice of his cousin only e second before he was body slammed into.
"Yeah... uh, hi."
Jeno had stood waiting for his cousin and aunt to arrive outside this shady pub which for some reason was their meeting place. He hadn't met Donghyuck since their regular school ended, he hadn't really had time because of his summer school.
"Hi Jeno, long time no see. It's a shame your mother couldn't make it today but we are gonna have a lot of fun together us three. Aren't we?"
"Hello auntie! I guess it's going to be fun? What are we doing here?"
Jennie only replied with a 'you'll see' and entered the pub, the boys following suit.
While the three were walking through the pub towards the back Jeno and Donghyuck took in their surroundings.
It was relatively dark in the crowded space, the only light coming from a chandelier with real, burning candles. The pub's floor was made of stone and was quite uneven, the wooden tables wobbling a bit. The people in the pub looked a bit sketchy of sorts, most of them wearing a bit ripped clothing and some weird looking hats.
It didn't take long for the cousins and Jennie to step into what looked a bit like a wine cellar, having a wall of bricks on one side and the other walls being filled to the brim with different kinds of bottles.
Donghyuck's mother took out her eyebrow pencil from her purse making the boys look at her questioningly. She tapped on a few of the bricks gently and backed away from the wall a bit. Not even a second later did the wall start to move and shape into an archway revealing a busy street.
"How did you do that?"
Donghyuck asked, he thought that his mother didn't have any way to do magic anymore.
"Well small pieces of my wand are placed in this little pen. You didn't think these gorgeous things-" Jennie pointed towards her eyebrows."-would be this perfect without a bit of spice?"
Donghyuck only rolled his eyes at his mom's antics and turned towards Jeno.
"Let's go bro she's crazy."
Hours of shopping and ogling at new things later the cousins stood conversing while munching on glazed apples. They were waiting for Jennie to come out of the shop behind them.
In the middle of Donghyuck's explanation of what quidditch is, she walked up to them with two cages in her hands.
"These are for you boys." She smiled at them and handed them a cage each. "Think of it as a 'good luck in the wizarding world' present."
The cage she gave to Donghyuck contained a sleeping black cat and Jeno's cage had an eurasian eagle-owl. The owl is light brown with small flecks of darker brown scattered across its body. It's eyes are a piercing light orange colour and they were staring deep into Jeno's soul. Jeno eyesmiled at the owl and gushed over how cute it's small ears are.
Both boys thanked Jennie a thousand times over and she only waved them off and asked what they were going to name their new pets.
Donghyuck didn't need to think for long until he answered.
"She's going to be called Ater. It actually means black in latin, don't ask how I know that."
Jennie eyed her son weirdly wondering how in the hell he knew what black was in latin.
Jeno took a bit more time wondering about a name for his beautiful owl.
"Halkoa. That's what I'm going to call him."
