The Lost Lantern

I kept  tugging on my tuxedo, trying to get used to it but I miss my hoodie...Flynn watched me the whole time "Don't worry, you look great" he says, I just gave him a nod

The chapel is packed, the citizens outside are ready with the surprises and I heard that delicious foods will be served....if only those came first

The queen was talking to another queen, sitting beside her...Rachel told her stories about me and she somehow believed it...now, she insisted that I'll be the best man

I cleared my throat, catching Flynn's attention "Promise me something" He nods, "Okay" I looked at him straight in the eyes "Promise me you'll never hurt her"

He chuckled and patted my back, quite hard, and nodded "Of course, You have my word"

Then, the flower girls, bride'smaids with the groom'smen came walking down the aisle making the crowd stop babbling and paid attention, eager to see the bride

I watched the king walk towards his daughter, slinging her hands into his arm....Rachel's smile is very wide that I'm afraid it will rip her face apart

She and her father walked down the aisle with grace but I know Rachel would just love to skip her way here

Her father kisses her forehead before letting her walk her way towards Flynn...she beamed at me and I just smiled back...

Her smile is on her face through the whole ceremony and that somehow made me happy...

After the ceremony, the newly weds got on the carriage awaiting them and rode towards the reception...

I watched the carriage disappear before I flew to the reception...People are excited to see the couple that they didn't notice me

After a short while, Rachel and Flynn arrived, hand in hand and the people clapped their hands and bowed down....Rachel was too happy to bow back that she just waved at them

There was dancing, eating and speeches until the whole thing came to an end...I made my way towards Rachel

"Oh hey Jack! By the way, the tux suits you!" she says with a grin...I chuckled at that..."Congratulations again Rachel...but I uh...This is goodbye" I was surprised that I was able to say it straight

"Wait what? You're leaving?" she asks, her smile long gone..."Rachel, I have to, You're all grown up and now you're married, you don't need me anymore"

She shook her head as tears stung the corners of her eyes "No, I still need you, please don't do this" I sighed and shook my head "No you don't...you have your family, your husband and soon, you'll be having your own family to take care of...You certainly don't need me anymore"

A tear rolled down her face but before I could even wipe it away, she wiped it herself..."I can't let you go" I smiled "Don't worry, I'll be there if you ever need me"

After a few moments of silence, she nods "Okay, but promise me you won't forget me" I chuckled "Never in a million years"

She smiled and hugged me "Thanks for everything....I'll miss you"

I hugged her back, tightly and nod my head "I'll miss you too"

After I watched Rachel and Flynn climb into the carriage...I waved one last goodbye to them before I flew away...I'm not sure where I'm going but I let the wind carry me away
