Hello everyone! I am so excited to see people's reactions to this chapter. The opening Feast of Hogwarts will be mentioned in Harry's prov before going through the first day of Hogwarts from Aaliyah's point of view. You'll see why soon enough. Enjoy! I tried adding pictures of the Slytherin Common Room and Hermes but my phone is deciding to do whatever it can so the pictures won't get up. Also in this fanfiction, Astronomy and Divination are taught in Second year instead of third and first.
Harry's Prov.
The Great Hall is silent for a moment before hesitant applause breaks out as I hand the hat back to McGonagall. This is not what people were expecting. The-Boy-Who-Lived a Slytherin? No, people were expecting me to be either a Gryffindor or a Ravenclaw. After all, defeating Voldemort at age one means I have to be very smart and powerful. People tend to overlook the fact that Slytherins are about power and that my magical core has to be of great size to defeat the Dark Lord. People believe I am not evil as all Slytherins are. If anything, people were expecting me to be in Gryffindor like my parents and my dad's family for generations. At least, now I know why the Potter family has been part of Gryffindor for hundreds of years.
My robes start to shimmer before turning into the Slytherin green, and the patch that previously held the crest of Hogwarts changes to that of Slytherin.

Taking a seat at the table farthest to the left, I look up at Dumbledore. He's trying so hard to control his emotions, but his face is definitely worthwhile as the other Slytherins glare at me.
The sorting continues, but is soon over.

Dumbledore stands up. "Welcome to a new year at Hogwarts! Before we begin our banquet, I would like to say a few words. And here they are: Nitwit! Blubber! Oddment! Tweak! Thank you!"

Dumbledore sits down. In a near invisible flash of light, foods of all kinds appear along the four tables.
Shaking my head, I place an assortment of food from each dish and fill my goblet with pumpkin juice.

"Mental Dumbadork is," I mutter to myself.

Once the feast has ended, the rest of the Slytherin first years and myself are lead on a tour of Hogwarts before entering the Slytherin Common Room.

The common room is adjourned with a chalk white carpet, think and dreary green drapes with midnight black sofas and a few armchairs fit for royalty. The furniture is arranged around a table that sits in front of a fireplace in the middle of the common area. A roaring fire sits inside the white marble that arches up as in a triangle showing off the brink pattern. Next to the fireplace is an old mirror with dark coils placed around it. Two wooden tables are also placed in the main room. One table is placed a few feet from the large sofas with a dark green lantern on top of it. The second table sits at the far back of the common room near the windows. The windows give off the sense of being in a dungeon with the ones that stretch to the celling being circular with thin bars stretching across them. Despite the feeling of being in a very dark and dreary room, the older years assure many of the first years that when the sun is up the common room is bright, and the colors don't seem as dreary. The part of the room that gets my attention the most is the beautiful designs that are placed along the walls and above the doors that lead to the dorms. It starts near the door looking almost like a snake before turning into a design that almost gives off the feeling of a work of art that sits above the doors to the dorms. Black chandeliers hang down from the celling.

After listening to another speech tonight, (this time from Snape) I quickly find out that I am sharing a dorm with Blaise Zabini, Theodore Nott, and Malfoy.

The Next Day (Aaliyah's Prov.)

After a night in the Hufflepuff common room, (where the night didn't go as badly as I thought it would) breakfast is being served, and I'm only slightly annoyed with my new roommates Susan Bones and Hannah Abbot. Trying to ignore their attempts at getting to know me, I try to focus on my plate and get my nerves under control. I'm not nervous at all for classes, since I was taught by the best of the best, and I could probably do what us first years are going to be taught by the age of 5. What currently has my nerves on high alert is my father. He and I have always planned on me carrying on the legacy and being sorted into Slytherin. I have always thought that there would be no question whatsoever when the time came for me to be sorted. Instead, I spent almost ten minutes arguing with the hat that I belong in Slytherin when it was dead set on me being in Hufflepuff. Something about me being more like my Mum than I ever knew, and that as the years go by I would understand why I was placed in Hufflepuff and later thank the hat. As soon as the hat called out the house of gold and black, I knew I was screwed. How am Helena and I supposed to complete our mission if the entire plan we contacted centers around me and Harry getting placed in Slytherin. Thanks, Eligio for making my life a whole lot harder. Then again, Eligio always did enjoy making mischief at the opening feasts.
