Helena has always known her life would be strange, since the moment she opened her eyes for the first time. Growing up inside a castle, a school producing it's first decade of graduates, but reputation and popularity spreading fast, she has always wondered where life would take her. Would she attend Hogwarts when she came of age, and if so, what house would she be in? Her father Merlin is a Slytherin, no doubt about it, and her mother is Rowena Ravenclaw so that's pretty obvious.......But what about her? What is her destiny?

There are typically two generic theories that people tend to believe in regarding fate and destiny.

1. That there is a predestined endpoint waiting for you and chosen when you were born.

2. Your destiny changes based on the decisions you make and every decision creates an outcome that is not set in stone.

Helena was never expecting fate to lead her and her cousins to attend Hogwarts when they became of age only after traveling through time  making them attend  1,000 years later! Regardless, Helena is a firm believer of the second statement on fate.

However, Harry Potter may be an exception. Despite knowing of the great deceit from the moment she walked through present Hogwarts' doors one year ago,  Helena knows Dumbledore will manipulate Harry's life and experiences to give him a 'destiny' of Dumbledore's choice. Perhaps, that is the reason the gang is in their current situation.

It all starts a few days after the reveal of Aaliyah and Helena's parentage as the group is walking to the ROR. Harry and Hermione lead discussing how James Potter played Quidditch and other facts Hermione knows about Harry's family. Neville is next completly engrossed in a Herbology textbook while walking. Aaliyah watches him preparing to help if his clumsiness takes hold.  Helena ends the line lost in though. The group is halfway up the stairs when a loud Boom sounds as the staircase begins to change direction! The group flies to the left side of the staircase as it swings around to the right, Neville tripping over his own feet and his book goes flying as Aalyiah manages to catch him before he falls over the railing and drops to his death!

By the time the staircase lands on a new corridor, 5 pale faces stare up at it. They rush to the landing not wanting to chance the staircase moving again. They're right because as soon as Helena steps onto actual floor, the staircase moves again leaving the group stranded wherever in Hogwarts they are. For a minute, the five stare at each other, the color slowing returning to their faces. Then, Aaliyah lets out a high crackle that startles everyone and gives off the sense that Aaliyah is as demented as Bellatrix Lestrange. Sometimes Helena worries about her honorary cousin's sanity if any of it is all truly there.

"What the bloody hell?" Harry cries at Aaliyah's laugh. Helena fully agrees with the sentiment.

"That old fool," Aaliyah grumbles her voice thick with hate. She turns to the other four. "This is obviously Dumbadore's work." Before Hermione or Neville can object, the crazy Hufflepuff carries on. "When our parents designed and created Hogwarts," Aaliyah gestures at Helena as she talks. "They made sure that the stairs would never move when someone was on them. It's safety pro caution 101 as seen by what just happened."  Helena's eyes light up in recognition at Aaliyah's words.  She takes over knowing where the Hufflepuff is going with this.

She says, "As evident by the sorting hat and the charms on the celling of the Great Hall, they do not wear off over times. No one could change the charms permanently but our parents and the rest of the founders themselves. However, the headmaster or headmistress could tweak the charms on Hogwarts temporarily being in charge. For example, Dumbledore could change the charm so that the steps would move when a certain group of people were on them and move the stairs to a certain place and then move back."
