I walked into school the next day with Alex. Everybody's eyes were on us as they questioned why I was with someone like him. Well, they were about to find out.

"Excuse me!" I yelled. Everyone stopped in their tracks. We were in the cafeteria so I stood on a table. "May we have your attention please."

Principal Harris came into the room. "Veronica please get off the table now," he said.

"No!" Alex yelled. "Let her speak."

"What does the murder want?" Someone asked.

"I want to explain why I did it." Everyone gasped. "Why I decided to drive that night..... even though I-I was drunk.
"I did it because my so called friends," I stopped and looked at my ex-friends and ex-boyfriend. "wanted me to drive. I didn't want to let them down because I wanted to be popular. I wanted to be loved. But look what happened! It cost lives. Now, I'm not blaming this on them, it was absolutely my fault, but I did it for popularity.
"I just want to tell you guys that fame here will die once you graduate. You have to do stuff for you. Remember it's your choice so make the right one."

Awkward silence. "Uh....thanks for listening."
I got down the table and me and Alex walked out.

"Well that was pretty freakin' awesome!" Alex yelled.

"Yeah, it was."

Then we heard a loud applause in the cafeteria.

"I guessed it worked," he said. We laughed. I looked at him.

"Thank you," I said.

He turned his head. "For what?"

"For being there for me. After all this. You're a true friend." I kissed him on the cheek.

"Friends don't do that."

I laughed. "Well, we'll see where this ends. It's our choice." We walked to class.

Many people began to change their ways and be themselves. It made me feel better because even though we may have persuaded them to change, it was their choice.

That's the end of Choice. Thanks for reading! More stories will be coming in the future!
