"Where are we going?" you asked, holding onto Sonic's hand with a tighter grip. "Oh you'll see!" he grinned, walking confidently, as usual. The both of you walked through leaf-filled bushes, under sunlit trees, and over outgrown tree roots on the ground.

"Really, where are we going?" you asked, trotting along in his footsteps behind him. "Geez, just wait!" he laughed at your impatience, but he couldn't deny that he was just as impatient as you.

Admiring the green tree leaves, you hadn't yet realized that Sonic started picking up the pace while walking. Or now, speed-walking. "H-hey why are you starting to speed up? I mean, I know it's your thing, but..." you started going at his pace so you wouldn't be getting dragged along.

"I'm just excited to show you, ok?" he said in his usual cheery tone. "Alright..."
you realized just how questionable he is sometimes.

After that, your gaze trailed off into the view there was of the wooded area you were both walking in. It seemed more like a maze at this point. Left, right, left and left again. Soon you'd be going up and down too... if that was possible.

"Ok, ok... (y/n)?" Sonic sighed, closing his eyes as he did so. "Yes?" you tilted your head, confused. "I... Listen, don't get mad, but uh-" he paused. "I uh, well, we sort of... got lost??" he said as if he was asking a question.

Ah, the dreaded sentence you didn't wanna hear.

"WHAT?! That's just great." you palmed your face.

"Oh boy..." he gave a look of worry.

"I thought... you knew..." you took a deep breath in to prepare yourself. "WHERE WE WERE GOING!" you finished your sentence. "Hear me out, hear me out... I did. Until I didn't!" he smiled awkwardly.

You mumbled under your breath. And he didn't say a word for the next few minutes. "'I know where we're going, we won't get lost!' Well guess what? We just did hedgehog." you mimicked him.

"I heard that!" he laughed nervously. "You were meant to." you sternly answered. You both walked in silence, trying to find a way out of the trees at the least.

After walking a few minutes, Sonic stops you in your tracks. "WAIT! I know this path!" he points at the path in front of you. "We're not lost anymore!" he smiled in a sing-song voice.

"Hmm, I hope so!" you finally started feeling hopeful.

"Here we are!" Sonic stated doing jazz hands. "You can be so cheesy sometimes, y'know." you smiled at him.
"What is thi-" you got stopped from finishing as you saw a blanket later out in front of you.

"It's a picnic! Or at least what I was trying to go for..." he scratched the back of his head. "Aww, that's sweet of you. Thanks!" you finally saw his "surprise".

"Are we gonna go sit down or..." you looked over at him. "Yeah!" he rushed over to his spot.

You both enjoyed sitting in this spot. At least you weren't lost anymore, huh?
